I didn't notice the crowd as bad as you are saying. I was on the Carroll Co. side.The guy got tossed because he said something to the ref as he walked by. He was probably the last guy I thought would ever get tossed out of a game. Then again I don't know what he said. If your gonna bsd mouth the refs you shouldn't set on the first row.

Owen by 15+. They will bounce back after their loss to WV.

Renda is to play with the 18U Kings this upcoming summer, Coached by Robbie Sumpter. Probably the better of the 2 18u Kings teams. Ryle should give him some innings this spring.

It will be a long season for the Owen Co. We have a real tough schedule. We have only 3 returning starters. Only one hitter over .300 and 1 pitcher with a varsity win. Maybe by District time we'll be ready.

We can't get our coach at Owen Co. to even give out stats. What could you tell a college coach without that info? There were no awards given at the so-called Awards Banquet either. You should take it upon yourself and your parents to contact college coaches and fill out on-line questionaires.Some even have questionaires for your High School Coach to fill out. Hopefully your coach can help you get seen if they think you can play at the next level. Most High School Coaches in any sport, that think their player is good enough, will contact colleges for you, on their own, which is great.

The best way is to watch his moves to first and try to figure out where he's going. Whats he doing different? If your the first baserunner then it's a little tougher. This sounds goofy but it worked for me sometimes, not all the time. If I was on base and haven't seen a move yet, I would take a lead so big he would have to throw over there, just to see what he did different. I did look stupid once going back to first when he threw home. Without seeing any move it's hard unless you guess or wait till the leg drops. A pitcher with who comes set with a wide stance is the easiest to steal on. He'll have to shift his weight back to raise his leg then step towards you. A pitcher who comes set with a narrow stance and has his weight already on his left leg before raising his right leg just has to raise it with no weight shift is harder to predict. Pay no attention to the way he's looking, unless he's given that away already. IMO

You can't steal on a good experienced lefty till his right leg drops. My son picked off 12 runners last year, and none of his body movements(shoulders) change untill his right leg begins to fall. The pause of the right leg at the top is the key. If the runner breaks to quick, before the leg begins to fall the pitcher can get him. A real smart pitcher who has already comitted to home on a pitch but sees the runner breaking can sometimes throw a pitchout if the count is in his favor. Just about every balk a lefty does is to commit to home, then drop the leg towards home while seeing the runner break and try to turn and throw to first.

A pretty good game in the first half. Owen's big man, Shelton set on the bench most of the first half in foul trouble. Gallatin's defense was to quick for Owen to get many good looks at the basket, causing them to force shots. All of Gallatin's players can score at any time. Shelton was definately a force on defense. He maybe could have stood his ground more and took a few charges. But it seemed to me the refs were determined to get him out of there. A few more games under his belt and he will definately make some noise in the District. Gallatin played hard and has a deeper bench. They will be tough to beat this year in the District. No one player stood out more than the others to me. Any sub they put in was just as good as who come out. IMO

I don't make to many predictions. Maybe I could go 2for2 tonight. Carrolls girls are awesome athletes, it will be tough. If Owen can beat the press of Carroll, it will be a good game. I'll be there.

When spending $300 on a bat you would hope he could use it next year too. An extra inch in my opinion dosen't hurt, as he can choke up. Next year grip it and rip it.

Got the math right. Most of the time the more expensive bat is better. The Stealth composite barrel is awesome. My 18 year old son likes the alloy because of the feel and sound. My 12 year old daughter uses a Miken composite bat that is HOT

None really unless you tried to use it in High school then it would be -3 only. Say next year he gets stronger and heavier but not taller and could swing a heavier bat but not longer. You could use the minus number on the bat as a reference.
