:lol: I thought you guys would keep it quiet after all of the bragging about Coach Floyd's great stategy of not playing for a week to prepare for this game while Elliott had to play two games and that this would give the Rams a good shot at victory. Guess not. Just kiddin you. Elliott's just that good. 30 points is actually a pretty good showing.

Great game again Elliott. Sure are going to be tough to beat by anyone around here.

Big time win for the Tomcats. Fairview is a tough place to go into and steal a victory. That gym makes it feel like the crowd is right on top of you. Congrats to the tcats and Mr. Thomas. Sounds like he lit it up tonight. How did Mr. Hall for Fairview fair against Ashland? He usually shoots well at home.

:lol::lol::lol: You can't really believe any Ashland player, coach or fan overlooked RH, a district game that puts the winner in the driver's seat for the No.1 seed. Ask coach Biggs if he overlooked that game. Hilarious excuse, pure and simple. As far as tonight's game, a few weeks ago I would have taken Fairview to win easily, but the eagles have been struggling the last couple of weeks for some reason. I thought they were really playing well before that though. Since it's at Fairview I'll take the eagles by 2, but sure wouldn't feel confident about it. I guess I'm like most of the rest that think this will be a close matchup.

Switch Rose Hill and Raceland and you've got something UT. Raceland doesn't have one good win all season. Can't rank them high until they beat someone decent in the region. When they defeat Ashland, Fairview, Rose Hill, East or West Carter, then they can move up. East Carter is definetly no. 2 right now. They're playing awfully well.

Will it be so full that they'll turn people away from this one? Just wondering how early you need to get there?

I'll make mine. Rose Hill wins by double digits if Jackson and Euton stay out of foul trouble. If not then Ashland will win. So, I'll predict; with euton and jackson - Rose Hill by 10+ without euton and jackson - Ashland by 9 Should be a great and enthusiastic crowd to say the least. Here's hoping for a good game without controversy and that both teams stay healthy. And everyone remember, there's some good young men on both these teams!

Wow! That's hard to believe. I know this wasn't a playing time issues from the games I've been at. Ferguson was their best player easy in the games I've watched. That's really a blow to a struggling squad. I know it's been a tough season for them, but why not stick it out for the few games that are left in your senior season?

If any of you really believe that Raceland can defeat Elliott or even stay within 20 points of them, I'd love to get in on some of that action. They could have Robert Montgomery Knight coaching them and it wouldn't be close. Unless, like someone said earlier, the bus breaks down and Elliott doesn't make the game. All kidding aside, besides saying coach Floyd will have them prepared, what matchups favor the rams, individually or teamwise? Is there anything you can point out that would make me think they even have a chance to stay in the game, much less defeat Elliott? I just don't see it right now. But make me believe. I would like to see another team in the 16th be able to play with them, but I've seen just about everyone this year and I haven't seen anyone that's close.

Lol. You can't be serious that this is all about the coach uttering a cuss word at a player. Have you ever listened to the players and the kind of language they use (and really a lot of teens in general use a lot of colorful language). I'm guess I'm just astounded that a player who is disrespecting the coach is allowed to do so and the school would think the coach is in the wrong for throwing the player off the team and uttering a cuss word. When I was in school the coaches would teach you discipline and respect. You probably would be lucky at most schools if all you got for dissing the coach was a cuss word. Most coaches would come up with creative ways to punish you for such indiscretions, most involving physical activities designed to make you remember the incident so you wouldn't want to do it again. How do you think these young men will make it in their adult life if they disrespect their boss at their job? Wouldn't be pretty, and you don't get a second chance most times. I respect Greenup's coach for trying to teach this young man a lesson in life, something much more valuable than a silly basketball game. That's what most good coaches do.

Both players were ejected after a shoving match following a loose ball situation. This had been building up between the players for several minutes and finally reached the boiling point. The refs had already talked to them trying to diffuse the situation. There seemed to be some tension building between the teams as both were pressing the other in the second half. Things seemed to cool off after the altercation. Big game by the Bush brothers for Rose Hill. Jackson and Euton sat most of the second half as the game was out of hand. The young guys came in and played well. Lewis did play hard the whole game, right to the end. Hats off to them and their coach. They maintained a good level of intensity. Plus they had a nice crowd that came up for the game to cheer them on.

I have to give Russell some credit for their game plan that seemed to want to limit Selby's touches which was very, very smart on their part. They packed it in around him and he didn't see the ball much in the half court offense unless it was on a rebound or something. Nice coaching in that reguard. The only thing I couldn't figure out for Russell was in the fourth quarter when they were down by 8-12 pts they continued to hold the ball and pass it around for long stretches of time instead of trying to get a quick shot up to try and catch up. There wasn't a sense of urgency until the clock got down to 2 minutes or so. Now this may have been due to them not getting the shot they wanted and waiting for that, but I would have liked to see them shooting at their first opportunity more in the fourth quarter. Probably just inexperience. For Boyd, Wes Steele had a really good game. He was all over the floor and scored some from inside and out. Boyd did a great job of finding the open man on fast breaks when they had the opportunity. It was really the difference in the game.

Wow, this is a shocking score to me. I thought Fairview would win by a score like that. I just didn't think Ashland could play that well but they sure proved they could. Hats off to them and their coach. It certainly proves them to be one of the teams in the running for second best team behind Elliott in the region. Great effort Tomcats!

Game shouldn't be close by the end unless there's a lopsided free throw advantage for Ashland. Fairview is much better than Ashland this year. Fairview by 9 or more.

Tex, being an eigth grader Corey is playing sparingly in the Varsity games, but he has gotten in a few of them. The majority of his time is in the JV games. Here is a shot of him playing in the David Garnes Tourney for you though.

I expect GRC's coach will call off the dogs like he did last night, but should be ahead by 20+ before he does. I just think they have way too much for the tomcats, even with the tomcat magic they seem to find for the AIT finals.

Do you guys remember the days of the AIT when it used to draw the big names and players from around the state? When I was growing up my dad and I would attend every year to watch players such as Winston Bennett, Fathergill (that went to Maryland, I believe), Richie Farmer, Rocky Adkins, Ervin Stepp, and Phil Cox that starred at Vandy, just to name a few. I looked forward to that every year. It'd be nice to get those type of teams up here again for the AIT. Just wishin......

I had heard that Fuller had quit the team. Didn't see him at the tournement at all so I'd say that's a pretty good sign he's no longer on the team. But maybe someone else knows 100%.

Congrats to the Eagles. They've certainly impressed me when I've seen them play this year. Probably the best 1-2 combination of guards in the region outside of Elliott.

I've seen most of the teams in this so here is my humble opinion; 1. Elliott Co. - no doubt who's No. 1, completely awesome team 2. Bath Co. - move up with their victory over the Hill, well coached 3. Rose Hill - think they'll be No. 2 behind Elliott by seasons end 4. Fairview - right behind RH, will battle them for the Region #2 spot 5. East Carter - much improved 6. Raceland - scrappy and fun to watch 7. West Carter - will be tough at home 8. Ashland - middle of the pack this year, but could upset someone at home 9. Morgan Co. - seems to hang tough most games 10. Boyd Co. - doesn't handle pressure well, but Selby keeps them in it 11. Lewis Co. - an improving team, won't want them in 1st round of tourny 12. Rowan Co. - maybe next year 13. Greenup. Co - likes to run but to their own demise sometimes 14. Menifee Co. - see 12. 15. Fleming Co. - ditto 16. Russell - so young and inexperienced, just can't score enough.
