Bath may have won anyway, but it sure wouldn't have been by 20 without such a discrepency in free throws. It seemed like Bath shot 30 more FTs than Rose Hill. That's all I meant by the ref reference. No way RH could win this game with Jackson fouling out early in the third either. Bath is a good solid team though. Well coached.

The team from PA I believe defeated Felicty to finish in third place. Not sure about the other games though.

No doubt of the tournement MVP, and well deserved. Can't wait to see the stats from this game.

Ouch! That's a thrashing after playing so well the night before. Does Henry Clay have much of a team this year?

Jackson was a human highlight film and RH played their best ball of the year easily. I think this is what people expected for this team. Not only did Jackson have the two dunks (his first in high school competition) but a few shot blocks on fast breaks for BC that were incredible. His putback dunk in the second half was the play of the year no doubt. It was absolutly big time! The best thing for RH was that everyone played well in the game, not just the big two. Their defense was suffocating before they called the dogs off in the second half. The big guy for BC got his points again. Selby is a good, good player. If he gets it inside he almost always scores. Plus, he had several good moves on fast breaks to avoid blocks and score. One of the best in the region for my money. Just needs a little more consistant help.

I think it's obviously OJ Mayo who was probably better as an eighth grader then the rest of these guys as seniors. He is a freak of nature basketball player. But if we're not considering him I would vote for two guys, Jeff Hall and Frank Lee. Both good division 1 talent for college and great high schoolers. Kelly Wells would be my number 3 pick.

Just can't see this years Russell team keeping this one very close. Fairview looks good at home and they'll win by double digits in this one.

Don't see Boyd winning "big" by any means but I think they may squeak this one out at home by 1 pt. The Hill doesn't seem to have gotten it together yet this season. Selby will definetly do some scoring inside in this one. He's a tough matchup for any team with his size.

Maybe he didn't argue with you because he's not a clown who wants to start arguements on every thread that has to do with RoseHill. Why do you post on RoseHill threads anyway? You obviously are a Tomcat and maybe would be better served to take your pompous attitude to those threads if you don't have anything constructive to add to these threads. There are a lot of good teams and players in the region this year besides Ashland, and I'm sure everyone would like to be able to discuss them without you trying to ruin the thread everytime.

I was there, and that was one SMALL gym! Not hardly enough room for me to stand at the end to take pics. I don't know what the number of fouls were for both teams but I thought it was a pretty well called game. The refs were letting them play down low and that caused a lot of the missed shots. The paint area was not for the timid or weak of heart. I found it funny watching coach Cooksey prowling the court. He was all the way to half court whenever his team was on the opposite end from him. But I'll say this for him; he's always coaching. Seems like he was giving instruction constantly to his boys.

Thanks for the reply TopperDad. Mr. Allen was sensational and that's bad news for openents that he'll be back next year. I do recall #81 making a fingertip catch of a ball that fell just beyond the Russell defensive back. I may have a picture of that but I can't tell if it's #81 or not. I'll attach it and maybe you can tell me.

Hey folks, I was at the game taking some shots and just wanted to congratulate both teams on a great effort and great ballgame. One of the best matchups I've seen all year. One of things I liked best was the player and fan behavior during and after the game. Great sportsmanship was shown by both sides and I haven't seen that at all of the games I've been to this year. Good job parents and fans of both schools! One question if I may; Who plays receiver for Breathit that wears No.3? While looking through my shots I noticed that he made several leaping catches during the game for long gains. One was an amazing catch where it looked like the ball was already passed him when he caught it. Again, congrats to both teams for great seasons and a great game.

:lol: The guy/gal predicting Greenup by 2 TDs makes me laugh. Have you seen them play this year? Greenup may win by a couple of points, but it won't be 2 TDs. I'll say Boyd Co. by one point with them being at home.

Don't care how many of you say it, no way Daniel should get the award over the record- setting Vanhoose (or McDavid for that matter). This obviously needs to be taken out of the hands of the people who have been voting on these awards, and maybe given to the writers. Same goes for the girls side of this too.

I hate to see this thread head down a bad direction after such a great game in the finals. All of the RH people I heard before and after the game were very respectful of Russell and how good of a team they are. Heck, ask the players what they think of Russell's girls. Some of the best they've played against, ever. And there is no easy draw or games in the regional. You think Ashland was a good draw in the semis? I bet West Carter wouldn't say that. And East Carter kept their game close to the end with Rose Hill. You can't overlook anyone and I hate to see some of the girl's efforts discredited because you don't make the regional without being good. Period. I knew going into the final that it would be a titanic struggle between two great teams. Either one would represent the 16th Region in fine fashion. And the girls from Rose Hill will indeed do this. But congrats to Russell too, one of the best teams in the state. And congrats to Ashland, Rowan, and all the rest who made the tourney great by giving all that they had in each game. Now Rose Hill won this title and deservedly so, and we all need to root for them to do well this week. Girls, we're all behind you and wish you all the best. Be safe and good luck!

You're right about that RickyP. All of the girls contributed to this. There were many key plays in the game that were made by the ladies you just mentioned. I remember a couple of baskets to break a Russell run, and some big rebounds down the stretch in particular. This was definetly a team win, had to be to beat Russell.

Hey GoRadio, you guys did a great job covering the girls in the regional this year. Got to listen to you all some in games I didn't make it to and you guys were on top of it for each game. Let me tell you that all of the area fans have appreciated it. By the way, I tried to post a pic of press row but the moderaters received too many complaints and they made me take it off.
