  1. A 10th region graduate of 2008 might end up at a high D1 pretty soon.
  2. Here's the Website. Not a ton of info yet, but probably worth checking back as it gets closer to gametime.
  3. Not sure. There were six on the girls' second team also.
  4. This was the first thing that jumped out at me and I'm wondering if there wasn't some mix up at the AP. I wouldn't be surprised to get into work later today and see a correction. I could be mistaken, but I think it only takes one first team vote or two second team votes to get on the honorable mention. Considering I gave him a second team vote, I find it a little hard to believe that nobody else in the state did.
  5. Actually, I just did a copy/paste job from the AP wire with the rest of the info I didn't see in the link. I'm not sure if any other papers have a full listing on their sites, but I'll probably post it on ours later in the day.

  9. Mr. Basketball is selected after the tournament. It's the AP which is selected before, and should actually be released within the next hour or so.
  10. Hey, I said from the beginning that Mason got a good draw. I was more commenting on how it's funny that I got killed for saying that at the time because Brossart was going to be such a tough first round opponent, yet the games are played and all of a sudden the prevailing logic is that they had a cakewalk. That's all I've got. I'll let this get back to the Mason County-Shelby Valley discussion.
  11. Yeah, Mason totally didn't get what was considered "ZOMG teh toughest draw ever!!!111!" according to BGP. And it's completely Mason's fault that Clark battled down to the wire with a team Mason beat by 21 on the road.
  12. Is the 10th going to stay with what they've got or were some tabs supposed to be involved there?
  13. Bobinski being in on the process gets them like a 5 or a 6 but back in the day, they would have been sweating it. If you're an X fan, you know how many upsets it took back in the day to get this team something better than the 14 you know they wanted to give them. Just look at the X team that played the fighting Adam Morrisons in 06.
  14. Forgot about that. However, they got jobbed pretty consistently for quite a long time there.
  15. Hey, I try to stay out of the college forum but add me to the three. Still, I'm absolutely frustrated with those guys. I think they're still in, but not nearly as high as one would think because the selection committee HATES X.
  16. Good luck to Elliott, and congrats to these kids from Lewis on a great season. No shame in dropping this one LC, you guys ran into a buzzsaw.
  17. As a 10th Region guy I still loved the 9th final, but this was well played.
  18. And this shouldn't be taken the wrong way because the free throw was missed and it didn't affect anything anyway. Also, I want to say that I thought this was one of the best all-around jobs of officiating I've seen in a while. However... Sitting at the media table with it right in front of us, we were saying that the foul call on Downing on Stenzel's and 1 layup in transition was a horrible call, considering Downing jumped early and kind of just sailed by. I just got home and saw it on WLEX, and now I'm convinced it overtakes the roughing the passer call on Colt McCoy in the Fiesta Bowl as the worst call in the history of sport.
  19. I think a stat link was posted earlier, but I'll go ahead and paste mine: Mason County 6 9 19 17 --51 George Rogers Clark 12 12 11 8 --43 MC: Middleton 3 6-8 13, Pawsat 5 1-3 13, Downing 2 4-4 8, Setty 1 2-2 4, Gilbert 1 2-3 5, Barner 2 0-4 4, J.Lang 2 0-0 4. Totals 16 15-24 51. GRC: Stenzel 4 4-7 13, Zollo 3 4-6 10, Hatton 4 0-0 11, Rogers 2 3-4 7, Williams 1 0-0 2. Totals 14 11-17 43. 3-pointers: MC 4 (Pawsat 2, Middleton, Gilbert); GRC 4 (Hatton 3, Stenzel). Records: Mason County 24-6, George Rogers Clark 25-7. And a few main stats, pretty even across the board. FG%: MC 36.4 (16/44), GRC 32.6 (14/43) TO: MC 10, GRC 14 Rebounds: GRC 34, MC 33 And a few other random observations and stats that tell a lot: - Mason only turned it over 3 times in the second half, GRC had 9 in the second half, 6 in the fourth quarter. I thought GRC actually dealt with the press well at first, but this says a lot about Mason being deeper and GRC getting worn down. - Mason made its last eight free throws (!) - Mason shot 25 percent in the first half, 46 in the second, Clark shot 37 percent in the first, 29 in the second. - Pawsat had 13 points but it seemed like every one was HUGE. He hit the 3 in the first half to stop Clark's big run, and hit another to start Mason's big run right out of halftime. But undoubtably the biggest was when Mason finally took the lead, they spread it out and run more than a minute off the clock, then he drives past Rogers for a layup to make it a two possession game with 1:18 to go. - I thought Middleton did more than the 13 points show. On the offensive end in the first half, Mason looked a lot like the team from the Highlands game that had everybody thinking it was going to be a long year. Lots of standing around and settling for shots they didn't want. I thought Russ coming out and attacking the basket in the second half kind of willed this team to start playing like the team they've been the second half of the year.
  20. Second one good. another timeout. 32-29, 6.5 seconds, Boone County ball
  21. Made the first one, timeout called. 31-29, Holmes with another shot, 6.5 left.
  22. Missed the front end, got the offensive rebound. Another 1 and 1 with 6.5
