  1. Boone misses a 3, gets the rebound, misses another from point blank on the block. They can't say they didn't have their chances. Holmes ball, 11.9
  2. Boone just missed a jumper, but Holmes got called for a travel. Boone had another shot blocked but came up with the loose ball. Timeout, Boone ball down 30-29 with 55.9 left.
  3. Yet Clark County started the season as the region favorites, and by golly, they'll stay the region favorites. If Mason County beats them by 29 on Tuesday, they'll still be the region favorites next year and Jonathan Fraysure will get verbally abused again if he picks Mason County to win the region in 2010. Again, I just can't believe somebody had such nerve back in October to predict that little ol' state champion Mason County might have a chance in this region, with the mighty Clark County Cardinals and all.
  4. Last time I went, they had a hospitality room which is more than we can say for other (cough, 39th District) tournaments (cough, 10th Region).
  5. I don't think anyone would go out of their way just simply to bring back the old 38th, but the scenarios listed are ones that could happen under any general realignment.
  6. This one jumps out at me, but not as much as Franklin County getting knocked off.
  7. As long as the lower bowl is filled with people who want to make some noise, I think the atmosphere is okay. Either way, it's far better than the game there back in December when I could hear myslef type on the keyboard.
  8. Thanks for calling that out. I knew I dropped the ball on somebody there. Swap Nicholas for Lewis... Or... put them in the 40th for a five team district... Or... Clark to the 11th... This could go for days.
  9. I have to think they're not trying to avoid each other totally as much as just trying to see each other maybe 3 or 4 times instead of 6. I don't think anybody is harmed by that. It's not like there isn't an abundance of holiday tournaments out there.
  10. I just can't see a way to get them all in the same district without some major work. Maybe 3, but not all four... Okay, from here on, this is drunk/crazy/speculation... If you really want a district with all four to make sense geographically, you have to raid the 16th region. Here's this... 37th: Same 38th: Pendleton, Bracken, Augusta, Deming 39th: Mason, St. Pat, Fleming, Lewis 40th: Harrison, Paris, Bourbon, Clark To the 16th: Montgomery Now, I'm not familiar with the 16th enough to know if taking two teams for one would leave them short. I don't know if they have any 5 team districts they could rework or if they could nab a school from the 15th. Just throwing something out there.
  11. A healthy Brandon Rash and the idea of more being on the line in the region semis make it closer than the 35 from a couple weeks ago, but Mason rolls fairly comfortably.
  12. This year was kind of a perfect storm in that those two teams met in every way possible. That being said, teams like Deming passed on the BC tourney for Lloyd Memorial for the fact that they played those same teams too many times already. Basically, what I'm saying is that it's cool either way. It is what it is.
  13. Didn't have quite the atmosphere of the Fieldhouse or even Montgomery County, but considering everything we heard coming in, I thought they did a nice job. I personally went with the chicken basket (and a couple brews) from Buffalo Wild Wings down the road but that's my own little protest to there not being a hospitality room. All in all, I would have preferred to, you know, be able to see the game from the media table, but other than that, I thought everybody did a darn fine job considering the high expectations.
  14. The idea of letting Brossart's 348 cheerleaders take up the whole baseline in front of the media tables while keeping Mason's all on one side in front of, well, nobody, is brilliant. At least the BGPers keeping track from home can take comfort in the fact that they have as good as view as the media and stat guys at the arena. Thanks, BOKC!
  15. First thing I have to give you is that the Brossart cheerleaders would prefer to perform in front of the media tables, as opposed to, you know, the area made available to the cheerleaders. I may or may not provide any more updates, considering I'm sitting courtside and can't see the court.
  16. So far, so good. Wireless working fine. I even started an update thread and nobody from SMG has come to yank me out of here and give me a beating in the parking lot... yet.
  17. Saints hanging around... 36-29 Clark, 3:00 3rd quarter
  18. Fair enough. All that being said though, I'd like to see somebody justify the "Brossart is a tough draw for Mason" argument with more than saying that it's tournament time and anything can happen, which, obviously, can be said for all 128 region first round games.
  19. I didn't have a good view, but it looked like it was on an assistant. Johnson was talking to an official and pointing to the scoreboard (I couldn't tell what for). As soon as the official started to walk away, an assistant yelled something and slapped a chair. A technical was immediately given to the Deming bench. I'll leave it to everybody else whether it was deserved or not.
  20. Okay I don't have a dog in the fight, but let's lay it out here... According to this thread, Brossart is going to give Mason County all kinds of trouble... It very well may be a good game and all, but exactly what is everybody's reasoning on why Brossart is going to have such a different team than the one that lost at home to Mason by double digits last week?
  21. There were a couple questionable calls here and there, but a lot of the FT disparity had to do with HC having a late lead and Deming sending them to the line on purpose. After 3 quarters, Deming had gone to the line nine times and Harrison three. 27 of Harrison's 30 FT attempts were in the fourth quarter and 19 were in the final 2:00.
  22. Deming 7 16 12 19 -- 54 Harrison County 14 12 10 26 -- 62 D: K.King 7 3-4 18, Mitchell 6 3-4 16, L.King 2 4-4 9, Grause 2 1-3 5, Caldwell 1 0-2 2, Schalch 2 0-0 4. Totals 20 11-17 54. HC: Custard 6 4-5 17, Puckett 5 3-3 15, Reitz 1 11-16 14, Thomas 5 1-2 11, Case 1 3-4 5. Totals 18 22-30 62. 3-pointers: D 3 (K.King, L.King, Mitchell); HC 4 (Puckett 2, Custard, Reitz). Records: Deming 19-10, Harrison County 17-13.
