Players (agents) would rather bank on yearly free agency, hoping value increases based on year one's production. Agents all fear that a player would have a breakout freshman year, then be stuck in a multi year contract. Imagine if you will a UK freshman on a two or three year contract, decides to hold out for more money and a new contract before his sophomore year. That would happen all across college basketball every year.

Agreed. They have to find a solution to every single player being a "Free-Agent" every year.

I hope UK strikes fast in the portal and gets commitments locked down quickly. I don't want to be looking up in 5 weeks and wondering who's on the team.

He was fired because somewhere in his contract it said that violating NCAA rules was a reason for dismissal. It doesn't matter if that rule has since been rescinded. He broke a rule and violated his contract as it was at the time. Nearly every company (with any morals) has a No Rehire Policy for all employees terminated for integrity issues. I'm still not saying he doesn't deserve another chance, just I'm blown away that LSU is going back to him.
