Since 99 they have missed the NCAA Tournament 8 times (not counting covid year) and been eliminated in the first round 4 times. So nearly half of the years (12) since that first title they have exited in the first round or completely missed the Tournament. Got to give them credit when they are good they are really good, when they aren't they are pretty bad.

Michigan was magnitudes better than Tennessee all year and proved it easily today! I would have been shocked if it was much closer than it was.

Every employer has rules that guide the work place and ethical guidelines to follow. If he's demonstrated in the past that he doesn't care about rules, what make us think he'll care now? It doesn't matter if the rule he broke is now allowed, he willingly chose to break known rules.

I wasn't at the game, but I was a Freshman at EKU living in Keene Hall on the bypass. I was looking out the window towards Alumni Coliseum and there was a limo and charter bus sitting there. Bored on a Sunday afternoon I walked over to see what was going on. Alumni was locked up but a door by the intramural courts was open. I went in walked over to look down at the EKU court. There was John Thompson, Patrick Ewing and the entire Georgetown team practicing. I was only there a couple of minutes until I was spotted and escorted (ran) out of the gym. By the time I went back outside there were maybe a dozen other students gathered by the bus and limo. Another guy and I started chatting up the bus driver. He said he had been driving Memphis State and star Keith Lee around all week. Painters caps were a fad at the time and the driver had a stack of Memphis State hats left on the bus that he passed out to those of us there talking to him. When practice was over the team came out and was very cordial to everyone, giving high 5's and cutting up with the 30 or so students there by then as they walked to the bus. There was a lady that was kinda famous then, that was the academic advisor for the team. She, Coach Thompson and Patrick Ewing all got in the limousine and left while the rest of the team was on the bus. The limo disappeared down the bypass and the charter bus stopped at McDonald's I believe. I thought that separation of the team was odd, but didn't figure that it would matter as Georgetown was clearly the better team...

LSU fired him for knowingly breaking rules. What's to make them think he won't break another rule going forward.

Friday night was horrible, every team that I was rooting for lost! ?

I thought the Purdue guy should have been called for over the back. He appeared on the view that I saw, to push off of the Texas players shoulder with his off-hand.

The portal officially opens for two weeks starting on April 7th.

For 65 years they've had a Carolina Man as the head coach, the next guy will have an even shorter leash if he's not a UNC guy.

I think it's a very long shot that they both will return. Possibly but not likely Lowe returns but I think Jasper is gone.

I believe most things are year to year. Some big money leaving as I think Otega, JQ and Aberdeen were easily the highest paid.

As to the Poll, it's way too early for me to venture a guess. I'll need to see what the roster looks like.

I think the Pope discussion may end up needing its own thread as not to overtake the 2026/27 team discussion. Mark Pope will most assuredly be the coach of the team next season, so this thread might be better served discussing that team as it becomes clear who will be on it and leave the should it or shouldn't it be Pope, to its own possible thread.

The portal will be key, for sure. I think I'll start a thread just on tracking the transfer portal. We can then discuss the impact of each arrival or departure in this 26-27 thread.

I think two of those are about to be open. I think Self is about done and they are looking to find a easy landing for Hubert and UNC.

It may have been mentioned, I'm not reading the rest of the thread. Jasper Johnson was I believe -9 in 30 seconds of play in the first half...that was a brutal stretch. I'm not putting this loss on him, but that stretch completely flipped the game. Iowa State seemed to play the Pitino philosophy on defense, foul on every play the refs won't call them all. When Iowa St picked up their pressure they were very handsy slapping at every ball. They were either playing the cleanest defense in history or there were so many hacks they just quit calling them. Kentucky has struggled most of the year with tight belly to belly defense and today had no answers to the double teams when they came. Credit to Iowa St targeting everyone except Oweh for a double as soon as they touched the ball. UK did a horrible job reversing the ball, but credit to Cyclones again on getting their hands in the passing lanes all day.

Alabama starting PG Aden Holloway arrested on drug charges. That could put a damper on a lot of teams post season, but if Oats didn't suspend a player for assisting in a murder there is no way he suspends Holloway for a pound of weed.
