I agree I think all these players were just as good if not better than Forrest. I'm not trying to dogg Forrest because he is a heck of a player. I think all of these guys should have made it, or at least got honorable mention. :thumb:
I just didn't agree with some of the Raceland fans dogging some of the players from the Eastern part of the state just because their guys didn't make it.
The players that made defense from the eastern part of the state were Kyle Carter and Drew Mcdavid. They both play different positions than J.T. How can you compare a linebacker to a D lineman or a defensive back? Did you see Careter or McDAvid play all their games this yr? I'm sure they both had great years defensively as well. And if there was a linebacker selected from the eastern part of the state Fields Davis or Michael Tackette are both better than J.T. Forrest.
Other players from the Eastern part of the state to make the all state team were: 1st team Cody Conley 2nd team Sean Grimm and Nathan Dials from JCHS. Also from Russell Eathan Gullet 2nd team. Drew McDAvid Ashland 3rd team. Kyle Carter Lawrence Co 3rd team. I think Johnson and Tackete were honroable mention. Fields Davis should have been on this list somewhere in my opinion. As well as Josh Wills. But congrats to all these guys that made it.:thumb:
The two "new faces" your talking about are danny coleman and tyler salyer. I do think Thomas will be one of the best in the 16th region this year. Who in this region is "too big" and/or "too quick" for McDavid to guard? And I think Ryan Bonner will be one of the biggest suprises in the 16th this yr. Once he losses his "football legs" he'll be fine.
I think Ashland should be ranked ahead of Rowan right now. They looked really impressive at Rock Hill. And the football guys have only been out for a few weeks so they will only get better. I would also rank Rose Hill ahead of Rowan.
