Status of Trinity QB Nick Petrino?

The link below is in regards to an article that took me by suprise today. I wasn't aware that Nick Petrino was injured during last weeks Championship game. Is he OK?

Unfortunatly any injury can be serious when it's advertised in statewide papers and you are hoping to play football at the next level. I wish him the best. He played an outstanding game. Good arm, great decisions, mobile...only drawback is his size and height. IMO I could see him playing DII barring any major injuries.

Where is he going to be attending college?

They announced it during the Louisville game on Saturday that he tore his MCL. They even showed highlights of the game during the broadcast of the Louisville game.

I do not know for sure....but if I had an extra $1,000 dollars to bet...he will walk on at Louisville, IMO.

I agree but fortunately most know an MCL tear usually requires immobilization and NO surgery, usually. If he takes time and lets the injury heal (and then rehabs and strengthens the knee) he should have no lasting effects to limit him in college.

What Petrino lacks in size he makes up for in heart. This kid can play football and I hope he overcomes his injury and gets the chance to play. I admire a player that has heard nothing but "you are to small to play" his whole career but he goes out and performs above the rest each time he takes the field. Prayers are sent for his full recovery.

Div. 1 Jacksonville St. is really looking at him; don't know to what affect his injury will be as far as recruiting goes.

I wouldn't find it strange for Petrino to play under his father and UofL. I happen to remember a few years ago when an undersized QB stepped into the spotlight for the Cardinals.
