Is the coach you are talking about Curtis Cotton? If so, he definitely deserves a chance to be a head coach. There have been numerous coaches that have gotten a chance and been less qualified.

UK does in April I think, UL does not as far as I know.

I'm pretty sure that a parent didn't contact a survey company to give constructive criticism.

Coach Holbrook sent out an email earlier on the coaches list serve saying he resigned. Also, included was the survey that was sent to parents of the players, which had parents critique the coaching staff. A parent contracted a company that is used to make companies run more efficiently. They created and had parents take the survey. Bad situation, IMO.

After 1 year? Unless he resigned on his own this would be a shock. Especially with him being an alumni. There schedule is brutal for a class A school, out of the district. There district is one of the worst in the state. Still a pretty good job, IMO.

I heard something about a super class with the top 16 teams in population in one group and the bottom 16 in another group. The rest of the teams would be split evenly. That is hearsay from the state championships.

I would say there will be a lot of interest in this job. Richmond is a nice place and Madison County pays well.

What year did MC go to the semi's? I was going off what people in the know have told me. Looking at the football history from 1990 Central hasn't made it past the 13th game of the season, which would be the region finals. I'm from that area and do think Central has a great program with really good athletes. Not long ago they won there district every year but couldn't win region. I would call that underachieving. If they won a region title I would retract that statement. So what year did they win one, I'm truly asking?

I don't think I would bring that up so close to the finals. I'd wait till afterward. Don't want the kids thinking about it and get distracted. Such as the Rich Brooks discussion. Time enough for that question after Friday. Best of luck to Boyle.

Although I'm not really close to the situation. I would assume a win less season, only having 8 games contracted. Not winning a region title. Central has been underachievers in the playoffs, they always have a good amount of talent but can't seem to win a region championship, that goes for every coach that's been there. I don't make administrative decisions. But I would assume these are the reasons. I won't make judgments on it being right or wrong, but Coach Turner is a good guy and has been successful in the past. I would think he could get another head coaching job if he tried. Good luck to him.

3A is the worst class in the state. But it's all about who you play and with Belfry and Central down this year we get two new teams which is welcomed in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing Paducah win after finishing the regular season with a losing record.
