No official announcement has come, but word all over town is that he was let go yesterday. Madison Central was 0-9 this year.

 

Turner was an assistant under Paul Rains and took over the MC program in 2003. He led the Indians to the Regional Championship game in 2003 and 2004. Turner won 6 playoff games in his 7 years at MC.

The Richmond Register has confirmed through numerous sources that Madison Central football coach Kenny Turner has been fired.

 

Turner coached the Indians for seven seasons and had a 51-30 overall record, including a 6-7 playoff record. He also coached 22 student-athletes who signed college scholarships, including Paul Warford, Larry Warford, Ryan Barnes and Keshawn Simpson.

 

The players were informed of the school’s decision not to bring back Turner on Tuesday.

Although I'm not really close to the situation. I would assume a win less season, only having 8 games contracted. Not winning a region title. Central has been underachievers in the playoffs, they always have a good amount of talent but can't seem to win a region championship, that goes for every coach that's been there.

 

I don't make administrative decisions. But I would assume these are the reasons. I won't make judgments on it being right or wrong, but Coach Turner is a good guy and has been successful in the past. I would think he could get another head coaching job if he tried. Good luck to him.

I would like to have that job I heard it pays very well and it would be a great opportunity but I have not really got my name out there quite yet. Plus a 6A HC position would probably be very stressful especially for a first HC job ever. But a man can dream right.
