I hope for the kids and programs sake he knows football and is committed to developing a solid program. I think Jackson Co. made a mistake jumping into districts so fast. I like that area and wish the best for everyone involved.

For all classes I would have to say Nothern Kentucky. For 6A Jefferson Co.

I really doubt LCA will make it back to Papa Johns this season but I expect for them to win it in 2009. They will have to play at Raceland in the regular season, at Hazard in the playoffs. In 2009 the really good sophmore group from this year will be seniors. They will have multiple home games in the playoffs. I look for Hazard to be playing in Papa Johns if they don't get alot of injuries. LCA will score some points but the defense will be suspect.

I would take the Pikeville job over Dunbar, right now David has to share the field with everyone at PLD. Pikeville is by far the best place to live in the mountains, IMO.

I would love to see him walk on at UK, and if things don't work out he could try a OVC school.

Around 35, Berea/Madison Southern High School/No college playing experience. Mark will do a good job.

Berea assistant coach for about 5 years. Madison Southern assistant coach, LB's I think. Madison Central DC for 2 years, and for past 5 years I think he was the OL coach.

I think that was a good hire I hope that Mark will be able to be successful. Mark, congrats on the first head coaching job.

I've heard there is a person is central office that doesn't make it easy on coaches to do their job. I would definately agree that the board is happy to field a team but could careless how the teams do. I'm not sure that Stevens would have been let go if it had not resigned, Jessamine County is a very, very, by the book school district. Whatever one school gets the other school does the same. I remeber reading about Jessamine Co. not allowing parents for the basketball team to work food concessions at Keenland because its associated with gambling and alchohal. They were wearing the standard uniform for servers, nothing to do with the school. They wanted to raise money for the basketball team from the company, tips, ect. Kind of hipocritical considering a lot of money supposibly comes from the lottery.

Does anyone have any actual figures of what Lincoln pays for the HC and assistants? How does that compare to Boyle?

Is anyone is favor of the new starting date for the 2008 high school season. I think it is August 29, 2008. The playoffs start November 14, 2008 and the state championship will be December 12, 2008. I hope I'm correct for all of the dates. I'm not a fan of the late start date. Is this because of the scheduling conflicts will U or L? I liked starting the season early August 15 and ending the last weekend of November and not getting into basketball season.

Did I hear correctly that the playoff pairings will be changed next year to play the opposite districts in the first and second rounds of the playoffs? I think it would be a very good idea, I'm not a big fan of playing inside your own district for the first two rounds. Anyone hear the same? I thought it might have come off an email to the list serve.

Darius Miller is struggling. I have not been very impressed with the UK's play so far. 0-3 1 foul.

LCA got beat down by Hazard in week 10. Almost got beat by Raceland and Fairview. They got lucking by playing all home games during the playoffs this year. I'll be the first to tell you that LCA has good kids but Paris has been more athletic than LCA in the past. LCA had some really good sophmores and seniors this past year. The talent level will go up and down at this school. A big reason LCA made it so far this year is NKY going to the West and having a field goal kicker that made a kick in the final seconds. Raceland doesn't make any excuses for the playing field not being level, they just play there butts off.

I believe they have to pay it back to be eligible at LCA.

Henry Clay, LCA, Raceland, South Laurel, Elizabethtown all run it. The list goes on and on.
