  1. Belfry has all the makings of another deep run at a 4th consecutive state championship. They are loaded.
  2. Russell's stock is on the rise. Look for them to be very competitive again this year.
  3. Interesting season for the Pirates. Replacing Hatfield is a lot easier said than done. The fullback is the gas in Haywood's engine....big shoes to fill. However, IMO the development of Corbett @ QB is the biggest factor facing the Pirates this season. If he can grasp the read/react nature of Haywood's offense....he could go down as one of the best QB's to come thru Belfry in a long, long time. He is a fluid athlete that has the innate ability to create space and separation. Good passer with a good arm. Not that it means anything His development will be vital to Belfry's chances of repeating. Defensively, Belfry should have one of the strongest units in the state...regardless of class. Gonna be an interesting year on Pond Creek
  4. 3A 1. Belfry 2. Central 3. Lex Cath 4. Corbin 5. Boyle Co 6. Bell Co 7. Russell 8. Tilghman 9. Garrard Co 10 Toss up
  5. Actually...over the past several years...Belfry has loaded up their schedule with teams that run mulitple front, pass happy sets. Several larger schools, out of state schools who routinely pass 20+ per game have littered their schedule. Belfry is NOT a good passing team. Can they pass? I guess. Do they pass? Not much. Why? It's not in their DNA.
  6. I think on the East side of the state....the 4A championship run will have to go thru Paintsville. Johnson Central will be a difficult challenge. I know they're breathing a sigh of relief losing Highlands and Cov Cath to 5A
  7. Hearing he may transfer back towards Fayette Co.....any truth to that rumor?
  8. Bourbon will probably challenge for the district....albeit their talent is beginning to wane. Not sure what Holmes has coming back. The dark horse...laugh if you want will be Harrison co. They have a new coach...new attitude...alot of excitement. They have an extemely strong class of Juniors to be...that hasn't lost a game as Freshman or JV. Could be interesting.
  9. I Know this is a common theme from Bourbon Co folks....but that game was still in Paris... Belfry's Defense was hard to handle....
  10. IMO......you need to stick with "north carolina" football. Lord knows you're tipsy when it comes to Kentucky Football.....
  11. Many of y'all completely discount just how talented Bourbon Co has been over the past few years when referrig to a "cake walk" on the east side of the state. I'll readily admit that besides Belfry...3A East wasn't on par with their west counterparts in 2014. However...Bourbon Co...was definitely the third best team in 2012 and IMO, the 2nd best team in 2013. 3A has historically went back and forth regarding a balance of power so to speak between East and West. I do think Boyle and Lex Cath bring excellent brands of football which should drive 3A football to new heights.
  12. Actually.....I think Scott and Holmes....at least at point would be the prohibitive favorite....
  13. Bourbon will have a nice nucleus coming back....but IMO, their window of opportunity is closing. Their best teams were in 2012 and 2013...
  14. It's definitely gonna be a "gauntlet" to run.....for whoever comes out of it. Not only alot of talent...but a lot of great coaching staffs.
  15. Definitely much respect for Garrard....they've definitely shown capabilities of beating alot of teams. Very well coached. However....in those districts...depth will be imperative. IMO, that's where Boyle, Central and Lex Cath will hold an advantage
  16. Well...I knew they were in District 5...but had heard via "the grapevine"..they were contemplating sitting out of district play this coming season. Good to know. With what Russell has coming back....they should have a cake walk in district play..
  17. IMO, Bourbon Co is too high in many of these early projections. Johnson Central should clearly be somewhere in the top 3. Franklin-Simpson is the one team 4A folks need not overlook. Coach Preston really has the program headed in the right direction. They'll make noise this year.
  18. Is Pendleton participating in district play this year?
  19. Garrard is certainly no slouch...but It looks like a Battle Royale between the 3-headed monster of Lou Central, Boyle and Lex Cath. Rugged
  20. Fill us in.....Where is Dalton transferring too? Did hear he may give up football altogether. Any truth to that?
  21. Looks like Neil Furnish is taking over the helm. Former assistant @ Harrison and Bourbon Co. Here's hoping Harrison can right the ship under his leadership.
  22. Raquan Horton is gonna be a concern for every team :dancingpa Should be a great game for both teams.....looking forward to it....
  23. Has Poynter applied?
  24. Any updates out of Cynthiana? Who are the candidates being mentioned? Pretty quiet......
