What does Russell need to do to improve in 2015? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Russell has steadily been improving and 2015 will be no different.

Devils took a big step forward last year and return a good deal of talent and experience.

Offensively Russell reruns a pair of 1000 yard rushers in QB McKee and HB Conley.

The biggest hole to fill will be the loss of Bronson Korzep who was nearly a 1000 yard rusher and by far their best playmaker on the defensive side of the football. Landon Arnold is another big hole to fill on defense.

What it comes down to for Russell is continued growth and developing weapons. The new alignment was not especially kind as well. Most likely Russell will have to see a strong Lawrence County in Round 2 and a Belfry team that simply was in a different class all together in 2014.

In order to beat Lawrence County and Belfry Maynard will have to find a way to develop more team speed and big play potential. Belfry's D-Linemen were as fast as Russell's backs last year and too quick to be blocked. Without the threat of a downfield passing game the Semi-Final was essentially over before Russell could even cross midfield.

With so much experience I expect Russell to show marked improvement and be a legit Top 7 or Top 8 caliber team in a loaded 3A Class.

Russell will be very good. Well Coached and are Loaded with Talent.

No one will be able to replace Korzep and Arnold. Not saying Russell can't fill their spots but they won't be able to fill their shoes. Incredible athletes who had a knack for finding the ball no matter where it was. Sammy Smith will be back after pretty much a 2 year injury. Hopefully if (a big if) Russell makes it back to playing Belfry he could be our answer to their Horton. McKee and Conley are going to have a huge year along with Blackburn and Ison. Pierce should fill in at DE for Suman. Other than finding a LB for Korzep Russell's Defense won't skip a beat from last years IMO.

DevilPride, do you have a schedule for Russell?

Looking forward to watching Russell play this year, I could see them getting past Belfry as well. Great coaching will show itself out on the field.

Another lil trivial tidbit is that Russell will be sporting new uniforms this year. Not since I'd say the late 80s has Russell had such a different look headed into a season. Uniforms are Adidas and look very sharp.

Got any pictures?

Coach Maynard is really modernizing the Russell football program compared to the old school look that Coach McGlone liked. Russell will more than likely run away with the district this year but that's why they play the games. The same thing was said in 2011.

Russell changed looks in 1984 season. Gold pants with different style jersey with added decal on helmet and made it all the way to semis before being beat by Danville so it's not all in vain. I think it just a new era is all.

Not the best color due to ink cartridge but I believe this is the new style. Subject to change I'm sure.

Those are nice! Lewis just got new Adidas uniforms too that are very nice

They look good. New era in deed.

As tight as they are I doubt the linemen will be wearing them around other than the football field. Not very flattering to the big men on the line I can imagine.
