I don't know how you can rank Mercer over CovCath and Highlands. Mercer has not play in anyway close to the competition that they will face in 5A. Remember, they won a championship last year beating 2A opponents. The top 5 should be 1. Highlands 2. CovCath 3. Bowling Green 4. Warren Central 5. Johnson Central

What about Franklin County? Don't they return a lot from a team that almost beat LexCath in the playoffs?

First, I think Witten is a very good baseball player. But, I do think you have to consider schedules when comparing stats. Revere gets his stats against the toughest competition in the state. I don't know what you mean by Catholic being a 3A school because they play against much bigger schools. I think Dunbar is one of the biggest in the state. I did not see the game, but didn't Catholic beat Danville pretty good last year when they faced Witten?

Revere is the REAL DEAL!!!!! He is the best player in the state of Kentucky. Witten is a very good high school pitcher, but what teams has he beaten. Revere and Catholic have played one of the (if not) the toughest schedules in the state. Where is Witten going to college? Who has offered him?

Catholic is loaded!!!!! They return every position in the field from last year. They only lost the Fahs kid at pitcher. All their other top pitchers are back. They have a very deep pitching staff. They will be hard to beat, but they do play in the toughest district and region in the state.

What does N. Bullitt have coming back? What makes them a top 4 team in 4A?

I think Bowling Green should be ahead of Johnson Central.

I believe that all 4 on in the same region. I think Franklin County will also be pretty good and they have a real good chance of getting to the semi-finals. Any opinions on the rankings of 4A next year.

Coach Walker did a great job at Franklin County. Where will he coach next year?

I like this top 5, but I would say LCA should be #1 with 4 returning starters from this years State Championship Team. Catholic will have the best player in the state.

Who will they beat and who will they lose to?

I believe Johnson Central had given a verbal committment to play and then decided to play South Point Ohio. I wish the two could have worked it out. Lexington Catholic vs Johnson Central would have been a great opening week match-up.

Bardstown has an early spring break. Don't most schools in the state have the 1st week of April as their spring break?

KHSAA BL-25-19 http://www.khsaa.org/handbook/bylaws/bylaw25bysport/bl25fb.pdf says that the window of 15 school days begins the Monday following the last basketball game. I believe that you have 15 school days to get in 10 practices.

How can Bardstown start after spring break. Isn't the KHSAA rule that you have to begin practice the Monday following your last school basketball game?

GoldenEagleFan, I think you are selling your team short. Also, playing good teams exposes weaknesses that you can work on and fix. If a team is dominating other teams then they can't find their weaknesses until it is too late. Also, I don't think losing several games early hurt teams like Covington Catholic or Newport Central Catholic last year. Didn't NCC lose 4 of their first 5 games and then win a state championship.

I may be wrong, but didn't Johnson Central have a good season this past year, but no one gave them much respect because of their schedule? Wouldn't playing Catholic give them the respect of playing a championship program, plus give their players the statewide exposure. I would think a good football team would jump at that opportunity.

Is it true that Johnson Central backout of a chance to open against Lexington Catholic? Are they playing a team they know they can beat? I heard they now playing a team out of Ohio.

Remember, they also lost the Davis girl that is starting for Alabama. Also, the first two meetings between these teams were really good and close. It should be an exciting region with these two and Scott County

Did the Generals ever work out the deal with Hoover to play next year?

First off, this was a Great Basketball game between two very good basketball teams. Oh, by the way, the Mackey Kid is the real deal and Tubby needs to recruit him a little harder. That is funny about the Heavy Hitters. I think there is a Supreme Court decison about yelling fire in a crowded theatre or better know as CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. Maybe the security felt that the SC student section presented a clear and present danger being behind LCs Bench and for sure behind the LC student section. Oh, by the way the students were not seated behind the LC student section, they were standing in the walk way. The LC band was already in place behind the LC student section. Oh, and the quote about Jim McKey, what would he have done? It is LCs gym and not Scott Counties. I was at Scott County last year when they made some LC people move because it was Scott Counties seats. As long as you are in the gym and watching a great basketball game, why does it matter where you sit. This is not Rupp Arena and there are no nose bleed seats in LCs gym. I think it only seats a little over 3,000.
