Witten is i think 7-0 on the mound. he threw 124 pitches in the game again Brossart and was very strong the last two innings throwing around 20-25 pitches.

I hear that Revere is getting some attention from pro scouts ... any idea where he might be selected in the draft?

According to the story in yesterday's Lexington Herald Witten is 6-0 on the mound with 60 K's and 9 walks in 44 innings of work, with an ERA of 0.50. At the plate they state him as batting .541 with 24 RBI's ,25 runs scored ,and as having hit 4 HR's.

For a guy that is supposedly throwing at times hitting 94MPH. That does not seem to be a whole lot of K's, considering who Danville is playing and working after throwing 44 innings . I saw him play two games in a tournament in Huntington last summer. I personally put the gun on Witten and he never got over 88. He did hit one HR however and almost caused a bench clearing brawl by trying to show up the opposing team when he circled 3rd base. Needless to say, his next at bat was not a pleasant one for him.

As it should've been.

Revere. Not even close. Whitten is a good high school pitcher, not great. Revere is a much better hitter...

Revere hit four home runs in last week's tournament in Cynthiana, and I think that put his season total to nine HR's on the year.

The kid can flat out kill the ball!

A Brewers scout told an assistant coach of a No. Ky. HS they were going to take Revere in the first or second round if he did not take the scholarship offer and was still available. If true, pretty high praise for his abilities.

MLB scouts are at practices to view Revere often.

Only saw one game but was not impressed by Witten. However, everything I have heard about Revere is incredible.

To say that Witten is only a "good" highschool player or that you weren't impressed by him is absolutely laughable. I have seen him play numerous games and he does not throw 94, he may have hit it once or twice but he consistently throws 86 to 92. The harder he throws the more straight his ball gets which makes it easier to make contact. His biggest problem in pitching is throwing an effective off-speed pitch. At the plate he hit over

.600 last year with 25 homers and 60 plus RBI's. This year he hasn't seen as many pitches b/c he more often than not gets intentional walked. When he does get to see pitches he has been pressing a little too much b/c of the amount of pressure he puts on himself. There are pro scouts at all his games, if he wasn't that impressive i doubt that they would be there.

As far as who is better at the highschool level I really can't tell you but as far as which one will get drafted higher or has more pro protential at this point I would have to say Revere. The main thing that puts Revere ahead of Witten is his amazing speed. They both are great hitters with great power and great arms, but Witten doesn't possess the speed that Revere has and that the pro scouts covet.

Whats reveres average? Also wouldnt they be close to being even due to the fact that witten is such an excelent pitcher.

Both are excellent players.

Both are excellent players.
....:thumb: Not fair to compare these players, as they play different positions and each, offer unique skills to their team.

Any HS team in Kentucky, would like to have either/both. They will both do well, in college.
