theguru Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 What does Lexington Catholic need to do to improve in 2007? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.
swamp thang Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 The biggest concern, in my opinion, is finding a QB. Justin Burke led them to a state championship in 2005. With the graduation of Tyler Hancock, I'm curious to see if the Knights have a QB that allows for the wide-open offense to which we have grown accustomed or if it'll be necessary to adopt a more conservative scheme.

Who are the candidates for the quarterback position at Lexington Catholic? In reverse order.....Hancock, Burke, Doss, Neff. Big shoes to fill for the next guy in line!
knights52 Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Right now it appears that Nic Ward, Will Letton, and Devon Williams are all in the running.
nomorenoles Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Somebody will step up. They are getting to the point were they just reload.
UNDERTHEBRIDGE Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 As of now I'd say a lot of the weight of carrying the team will fall to Israel the running back for the Knights.
knights52 Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 They return a lot of depth on the line as well with 4 returning on the O-line and 2 on the D-line (they ran a 3 man front)
colonel-fan Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 With Israel and so many lineman returning, it sounds like the Knights offense will again be a machine. What about on the defensive side? That seemed to be the Knight's achilles heal last year?
fballman007 Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I am always impressed with LC every year. It seems that whenever there is a question on the upcoming team they fill it very well. They never really seem to have a rebuilding year. Very impressive.

oldonetechnique Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I am sure there is plenty of talent at Lex. Cath. I do think they were marginal on defense last year, and really lost the best players they had there.
knights52 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 The Knights also return strong safety Nick Vicini who led the Knights in tackles last year.
In the Game Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 The Herald-Leader reported that LexCath and Johnson Central will play in the Bluegrass Bowl to open the season.
