Central KY Spring Football

Featured Replies

I am going to post regional threads on this topic. I want to know what teams in Central KY are going to have spring football practice and what that practice consists of? Then the fun part will be comparing how much schools do in the spring and how successful they are in the fall.

How about it?

Franklin County is having spring practice. What it consists of will depend on the number of kids coming out. With many in baseball and track, along with jobs, and other activities attendance is sometimes poor.

Mercer will be having spring football lifting and practice and also participating in as many passing competitions as possible.

You cannot participate in passing competitions during spring ball. No other team is allowed to play or scrimmage another team during the spring.

cold weather fan are you sure about mercer having spring ball?

Mercer is not having an "official" spring workout. Coach Jaggers is working in the weightroom and conditioning all of those who are not participating in a spring sport at this time. NO OFFICIAL SPRING PRACTICE SESSIONS.

Woodford County starts today.

Both Bardstown and Nelson County will have spring practice. Bardstown will not begin until after the basketball team is finished. It will be more limited (traditionally) because many of the players are on the track team, although Coach Clark may have something else in store.

Nelson County's is this week, I think.

PUlaski start spring drill this week

Bethlehem started practice today. Numbers were really good. I have heard up to 35 players with several members of the baseball team missing. (35 does not sound like much but they played the entire season with 22 last year) Unfortunately out of 35 players there were no Billy Jacksons.

Henry Clay gets started sometime this week. Gotta try to get good enough to compete with the Big Three!

Bardstown will start when school resumes after spring break. The Track participants have to practice track first then football, but usually their track workout is very limited. Should have a good turnout for spring ball, but as everyone knows, the weeds will be pulled so to speak when 2-a-days go into full swing.

How can Bardstown start after spring break. Isn't the KHSAA rule that you have to begin practice the Monday following your last school basketball game?

Franklin County had about 30 out yesterday, a few new ones that could help if they can do the right thing.
