  1. I totally agree. Great Post. Sometimes things are opposite though in this case you have seniors that have went all the way through that are great for the team and you have younger ones coming up that can add to the team. They have done really well on the JV level. My thing is seniors coming out just to play their last year. I think if they were going to play and commit and work they would be doing it before this year. Most feel they have a different agenda of why they are playing this year. They also have a uncanny way of quiting every team they get on after taking another boys possible positions. I do believe it is about winning but win with the ones that are dedicated to play. Just venting thanks for listening to an old man rant.
  2. Great Post!! We are so excited for these boys. Now we have football Friday night and football Saturday. Nothing could be better. I think this will bring the community closer together having a team close. The line-up has boys from all the surrounding schools. It's an exciting time.
  3. Our team is getting ready to gear up for spring break in cocoa beach.
  4. What does anyone think about seniors coming out for school baseball teams without having played since babe ruth or before. Most thinking because they are seniors they will play in front of younger boys. I think they figure the younger ones will play JV. Should it not go by ability rather than age?
  5. Raceland will be making the trip to cocoa beach this year. They are starting to gear up now. Basketball is still holding a couple of players that is not in the mix whether it would be JV or Varsity. Alot has been said as to why do schools go all the way to Florida to play area teams for a week. There is alot to be said for the practice down there. It is also a bonding time for the team and even parents.
  6. I am trying to lighten these posts. Again we dont want negativity. I was reading some other posts and it had turned sour. These boys are extremely focused. First on their mind is their education and their lifting to stay strong coming in. This comment on colors was something fun. There were boys coming in with different colors laughing saying that will take something to get used to after playing in these colors so long.
  7. It was a joke. They are not worried about that . Coach Vanderhoof was talking to the paper about the colors and laughing just added that for amuzement. Fairview coach has supported all three of these boys. I think he probably voted for these boys when it came down for all area or all district.
  8. I would like to challenge BGP members to start a thread on KCU signees and do some research on more players. The last thread became a Kasey Clark for and aganist match. I think we need to get those boys names out there and what they have done. I think the world of Forrest, Grizzle and Thompson but they have a new team with new teammates. I think it would be great to get to know some of the other players. I think those three are just trying to get used to the fact their new colors are going to be red and black hahaha. Anyway we should keep to the thread and not veer off.
  9. I do wish everyone would have stuck to the thread. I think there are several people that got their feelings hurt when it strayed off. These boys that have signed are thrilled and excited to being getting on a football field again. They are nervous and unsure of theirselves and could use all the support we can give them. They do look at the BGP even though their coaches have advised them not too. I can only imagine how Kasey feels. These boys have developed thick skin but this to be one of encouragement. We grab on to one player and pick him to death. Lets let the coaches decide how they can use Kasey and the other boys and not let our opinions shadow their hopes and dreams. If the boys dont make it to where they would like to go then that is their pill that they half to swallow which is bad enough lets not go force feeding the pill to them
  10. I totally agree but lets not forget that that list included boys that were all area and all district also. I did my research and there are some fine boys on this team. Its my understanding that academically one of the hardest classes they will have is the religious classes. I think it is great that they will have a religious foundation to start this team. It is my hope that these boys can all come together as one.
  11. They do offer scholarships they are just academic and leadership and religious based.
  12. I am ready to watch some football. J.T. and Clint on the line holding them back for Scott to make the passes. Good luck to all three. Everyone is so proud.
  13. congradulations to all three guys. I guess my early statements have been valid a band of brothers both at Raceland and KCU continues.
  14. Again i say that KCU is going to be one heck of a team. Dont count them out.
  15. Congrats to Drew! Excellent athlete. Some of my relation went to Ashland with Mcdavids and thought the world of them. I assume they are related. Fine family.
  16. No decision as far as i am told on the three you mentioned
  17. Congradulations to our Lady Rams. Good to see you back and still be able to get in the grove of things. We think you are great.
  18. Your last paragraph was the best i have ever came across. These boys have major pressure that they go to a school away or it really isnt college. Next if someone doesnt think that particular school is up to snuff they are told about it from their peers and adults. Its a shame this happens. What happened to being happy. Their major shoudl come first and believe it or not these boys that are going to smaller schools say the have the same excitement about maybe getting on that field and saying i play football at a college level. Your post was great.:thumb:
  19. What you are saying could be true. Three boys we know have verbally committed but they are still be recruited and they are still making offers. No letters have been signed yet and until they do i guess this thread is completely up in the air for all the boys.
  20. Raceland's Class of 2007 Scott Grizzle, J.T. Forrest, Brad Rogers, Clint Thompson, Derrick Beach, Benji Mullins, Scott Mckenzie, Calab Cladwell, Shawn Deskins, David Hammond, Kile miller, Tyler Chambers, Joe Stephens, Sumo (Kyle Rinne)
  21. I agree with you totally another school had to do as you call it an enema flush. You are right it does happen. You would be surprised how things calm down when you dont have to go through the family tree to get some assistance or help.
  22. Did i miss somethiing? Was something said negative or do you dislike the tournament in general?
  23. Boy if they keep getting these fine players KCU will be one heck of a team. To maybe be able to go in there and play quickly and being the first football players to start a program would be something to be remembered.
  24. As an Ashland man and past coach the Ashland football team is wonderful. There is nothing quite like putnam stadium and all that is involved. You couldnt ask for a bettter community and minus being for the Rams when they play I am always a Tomcat at heart. My entire family feels that way. Good luck on great up and coming season.
  25. i think the reason i didnt remember this date is that a host of dates have been thrown out there from they need to verbally commit now so on. Old age i guess. I do think that date is kept more for the bigger schools but i may be wrong. i have been wrong before.
