This is correct. Most officials want those coaches out there very quick, so they will not give T's for them coming out to help. Now if they are doing more to stir the pot that is a different story I'm sure! But the only T that would be given out is the one for the 6 players coming on to the floor that didn't fight. Just my opinion.

That is half right! B1 does get 2 free throws for the intentional foul on him. But also the Coach from Team B gets a bench technical for the players leaving the bench and coming on the floor. The coach can come and separate players, but players can not. So all 6 are ejected, and the coach gets 1 technical total. Team A will Also shoot 2 free throws. And Team A will get the ball out of bounds at the half court line! Now if any of those players got into the fight, the coach would receive a T for each that participated. Harsh I know but if it wasn't we would have kids flying off the bench and getting into fights every night. This way the coach will try to control their bench a lot more.

With all the talk about teams running up the score in a lot of games this year. This would be a good time to ask should we have a mercy rule adopted for Kentucky next year! Whether it be 25 point lead in the second half or something close to that, we definitely need something. Some may argue that is where the subs get their time, well put them in earlier if it is going to be a blow out game and let them get some time earlier in the game when it's a 15 point lead instead of waiting till it's 30. Just an idea.

With all the complaints about people getting scores ran up on them, would this be a good argument for the Khsaa to adopt a mercy rule like in other sports? I believe it is way over due if you ask me!

It's hard to tell the subs that are coming in the game to not try to score, some probably don't have an opportunity to score all year long, so this is their chance to get some points for all their practice time. The only win of the year for this team and they ran up the score by beating that team by 50+ points, why don't say anything to them! This is just another reason we should have a mercy rule just like every other sport in Kentucky. If you are down by 25 in the second half, the clock should be running!

Most would agree the girls should play first for all purposes mentioned, but the KHSAA will not let that happen. Due to Title 9 issues, sometimes the girls do have to play the last game unfortunately.

Yes that is correct and NCAA is different Choice #2 would be correct if in NCAA game.

I think it should be limited to teams under 500 students. This year we would of had 7 smaller "real A" schools get into the tourney. The number is too large for the amount of teams there are out there.

There is a talk show about it at 4:30 here in Eastern Ky today on WYMT ch. 57 with Brian Milam. Always a good show.

I would think that since the girls played their quarter finals and semi's in the same day, then the boys should do the same thing on saturday night. Would be better than having to play them so close together on sunday afternoon.... Why not put the boys semis at 7:00 and 9:00 saturday night or something. Would make it better for everyone i think! Just my 2 cents!

They had no tests in the 14th, and probably won't till they get to the semi's against maybe Lex Christian. Shelby Valley and Elliot should be the other semiu should be a great tourney for the MOUNTAIN TEAMS.

A two man system was great a few years back, but now since the game is at a new level. Everyone is running up and down the floor shooting 3's and pressing all over the floor and it's difficult for 2 people to officiate the whole floor. Yes they used to do it, but the game was never this up tempo and we never had this many athletes on the floor at one time. The game has passed up the 2 man system and definitely needs 3 for the kids to have a fair called game.

Why don't small schools use their heads and not schedule big games till after the playoffs are over?? Hazard knew they had a great football team and need those football players to have a great basketball team. The schedule in Basketball should be very weak at the beginning, until the football players can get back. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to work your schedule so you can avoid these silly things. Perry already had a busy schedule. From what I hear Hazard wanted to make it on Monday, and Perry already had games on the Friday and Saturday before and on the Tuesday afterwards, so that would of been 4 games in 5 days. So I guess they could not come up with another day to reschedule so the forfeit was what happened. If small football schools would pay a little bit more attention to scheduling, these things don't happen.
