So kinda like Knox Central's new gym only a lot bigger?

These players are evaluated all throughout the year as much as possible by this group and they try to pick the ones that they think should be here. Granted they may miss some of the best players of certain regions, probably because they were not able to get to all the teams in every region as much as they needed too. These guys do a great job with this event and get a lot of the best players in these surrounding regions, yes they may miss some, but it's still a great thing they are doing for these kids and I would like to thank them very much for doing this.

How many will the new gym seat?? Regional tourney in the future I would guess. Would love to see it.

Winning the state championship probably helped out a little too you think! And the mvp, and signing with UK maybe a little,

Just wondering who to watch for this year and who are the players that will make the most impact on their teams.

I know he just transferred to Knott from JBS and everyone said he is eligible for basketball, just wondering is he playing baseball for them. From what I hear, he is a good player at both sports.

There is a court case pending between his parents and the school that would cause him to have to change schools, and this would make him eligible. Don't worry he is eligible, when it all comes out in the media I'm sure people will talk about it more and everyone will know what has went on. Until then, it is confidential and being covered up by the people in Pippa Passes. That is all people need to know right now.

That would be a mistake by the Clay county administration. He has brought a black mark to the team and it will not go over well with the officials either. They need to find someone that is not so arrogant and will stick to coaching instead of getting into these little types of fiascos that make the school and everyone involved look bad.

Two years in a row for Perry Central to lose their best player before they could get to Bowling Green. Could be just a fluke thing or maybe they need to get on a better weight lifting program. I'm sure with all the experience that Coach Napier has, he has them lifting and doing what they should to keep their legs strong for the whole season. Now the big question? Is Coach Napier staying or leaving? Don't really have nothing coming back that will compete like he is used to, probably a good time to pick up shop and find another place that will get him some more wins.

Seen a lot of games blown this year in the last quarter with big leads. Does no one have any discipline anymore? Seems like all these teams know is jack it up every trip. No one seems to work it around for a high percentage shot or a layup only. There is no way they should lose in a high school game up 14 in the last quarter if you can make a free throw every now and then, you don't even have to hit a lot of them, just hold it till they foul you or you get easy shots. This just throwing it up every trip has got to be taken care of by some of these teams. Really cost Corbin tonight, I wonder what the fans are thinking now, after they started that CHANT a little too early! Got to hate that for them. Overall good called game by the officiating crew from the 14th. some missed calls on both ends, nothing major, both teams definitely had a chance to win and when you go to overtime, it's all on the kids. I was able to watch it on WAZOOSPORTS.COM, I sure wish everyone would use them to do their games, that was a great thing for this tourney.

Wow, sounds like a tale of two halves. Shelby Valley may of given too much energy to make the come back they couldn't close the deal. Heck of a game for these two teams, congrats to Paintsville and good luck at Rupp.

Hatcher and Holland are Co-Coaches of the year in the 14th this year. Congrats to both. Guess this final will see who can prepare their troops the best.

I believe 2 of them that called the Corbin/Knox game will be on the final tonight, definitely the tall skinny one because he is going to the state tourney, along with the heavy set one that called the second game. Should all let them play, will be fun game to watch. Good luck to both teams.

Surprised we haven't had anyone say anything about they officials, were they even anyone their calling? Or did they do such a good job no one noticed them? Just wondering how the 14th region was doing over in the 13th?

Cavanaugh is an assistant at LCC right now, but supposed to be coming to Knott as their new head baseball coach and asst. basketball coach next year.

Although I was on the other end of the floor, the 5th foul looked like an easy call. If you watched the defense, he was in proper guarding position, then Banks ran him over. And they should of T'd him up for his actions afterwords also, but didn't. The Blair push was in reaction to what Blair did first and not saying that both shouldn't of been called, but I would guess that they said if they didn't call what Blair did, they don't call what the other kid did either. That is just speculation. And as for the foul count, I would have to say that Perry plays a lot better defense and are coached to play defense and have been all year long. They know how to play defense and do a great job of it without fouling. Letcher does not play defense, they just run at you and try to get you into their speed up game and that didn't happen last night, Perry is well disciplined and are playing really well. Not saying that a couple more fouls couldn't of been called because I'm sure they could of, but I'm sure they were let go on both ends. But the ones that were called were pretty easy to call. Pretty good game and can't wait til tonight's.

Word is he and Tate are close friends but pretty sure he will be at Letcher Central next year where he is from. He will make them a great team because I'm pretty sure they only lose one. Should be another tough district next year between these two teams.

It will be interesting to see how Hazard plays Perry without the 14th region officials. Should be a well called game and and neither team should have their buddies in the stripes for any help. The kids should decide this one. If Hazard gets out to a quick start, it's over early. If Perry can get out to an early lead and then play their work the ball around style for a good shot and limit Hazard's possessions, Perry will win this one at home. Should be exciting to watch, can't wait for this one, will be there early to get a seat! Should be a packed house. Good luck to both teams.

Stepp will not be there, he will be going out of state to a prep school or up state somewhere closer to where his brother will be playing college basketball, which is unknown at this time.

Perry is definitely playing their best right now. They usually hit better freethrows and if they would of done that last night, it would of been 8 or 10 point game. Letcher was definitely thrown out of their style of play and they couldn't do anyting about it. I would have to say that Coach Hatcher definitely won this coaching battle! The officiating was the same on both ends, the 15th is just a lot worse than what we are used to in the 14th. The charge calls were not even close, Banks took off from about 15 ft away and the Perry kids were there waiting on him on all 3 occasions that he was called a charge on. Good luck to Perry in the finals! Should be a heck of a game, maybe the 4th time will be the charm for you guys against Hazard.

When Clay got it inside, they scored, simple as that. They just didn't get it in there quit enough to win the game. The press bothered them and they rushed a shot or made a silly turnover and South capitalized with a big 3 most of the time or a layup! South deserved this one, they were ready to play and were well rested. Clay had the roughest road, but did have an extra day to rest because of weather. Should of both been ready to play. South's game plan worked a little better than Clay's. The Sophopmore #10 can flat out shoot the rock. Good luck Lady Cardinals in Bowling Green.

If anyone wins but Hazard it will be a major upset. Hazard will beat Estill 15+ and get ready for whoever comes out of the Perry/Letcher game. The winner of this game will have been in a battle and be a little tired for the Championship game tomorrow night. I think Hazard will do well down at Rupp, should be playing on Saturday morning against Mason.

Hope Sturdivant is okay, does anyone know if it was an ACL or not? Would of been a real different game if she had been in their, I think it was just a 2 or 3 pt game when she went down, then Breathitt went on a 12-0 run. Hard to play without the best player in the region. Congrats to the Lady Cats.
