In Clyde's first post, it says "Bonus", not double bonus, so I would have to say that means, 1 and 1. So it is correct that the rebound, pass, shot, horn goes off,basket goes in, 3 pointer counts. Team B up by 2, correctable error, but do to the fact that the shot will not change the outcome of the game, it will not be shot, Game Over! Now lets change it a point and say, if Team A would of been up 2 points when this happens, it gets really fun, because the free throw would have to go back and be shot with no one on the line and no time remaining, if it goes in you have overtime, if it's missed, now the game is over! Interesting scenario.

I'm pretty sure the Rankin girl at A.B. Combs elementary will be a big part of replacing Sturdivant this year. The girl can flat play!

With the addition of Cox, Ratliff will not get to handle the ball at all now. They let him last year to give Stamper a break at the point, but now they won't need to do that. They need to stick him on a wing so he can penetrate when he does touch the ball and be able to get in the paint and get some rebounds. He is a big boy and could be a presence inside if he would work at it instead of hanging out on the three point line with the guards. They need to realize he is not a guard and move him underneath where he belongs.

Too bad the coaches can't play in the games! Yes it is good to have quality coaches, but the players have to play all the minutes, so you have to have some skilled players if you are going to get out of this region.

Not looking good! Him and Coach Holland were not getting along real well and he has some other issues.. You never know about kids these days!

Losing the Hall boy back to JBS is big for them. They have a guard oriented team that can run and shoot with anyone, but if they meet up with anyone with any size, they will struggle. Definitely top 3 or 4 in the region though.

High school tourneys thanks! Would you have any idea who to contact for the Corbin tourney?

Playing against that higher talent level in practice everyday will help the kid for 2 years, than playing on a team where he would be in the top 5 players in the school as a freshman and probably not get much better. Sometimes it's better to work on your game with some other great players and develop your skills before you get to the varsity level. But it's all in what you want for your kid. If starting 4 years in a sub par school program is good for you, let them go there, if you want more for them then send them to the big school and see what happens.

Maybe they couldn't get a job in that district or county yet, so they are having to work where they can till something else opens up. I'm sure they are looking at it as what is best for their kid! Wouldn't anyone?

Just wondering were there any tournaments coming up in this area? Would anyone have any contacts to find out what tourney's are still open?

1. Hazard until someone beats them, Back will help Whitaker at the guard spot 2. Perry with a great coaching staff and additions of Salyers from Breathitt, needed the big man. 3. Knott with the addition of Cox and Hall to play with Stamper, should be a good team, but lacks the Coaching experience to get them over the top. 4. Letcher didn't lose anyone and was coming on strong at the end and very well should of been in the finals with a couple trips coming out differently. 5. Lee with the new big man addition will now have 2 big guys to dominate inside. 6. Estill always has a great chance at winning 7-the rest.... no chance for any of them, weakest teams I've ever seen in this region.

Looks like everyone is getting additions of big men this year. And as far as Turner is concered at Breathitt, he is not worth talking about. He has single handedly destroyed that county and is on his way out I'm sure.

If Estill is still in it Friday, what are they going to do about their graduation friday???? I'm sure they will either play the game early or will move it to saturday afternoon.

This was the worst display of sportsmanship I have ever seen in my life at the baseball field. And it wasn't just one team or player, it was the fans, coaches, players, faculty, and administrations. All around these two schools are bad for the game.

By a vote of 20-4, Tommy Hall is the new assigning secretary of the 14th region. He has been helping the former secretary the past 3 years anyways, so really there was not really a change. I thought it might get ugly in this election, and it did.

Coach Couch will be putting in for this job and should be next in line for it. He has the knowledge and the talent for this position. The kids will love him as the new coach. Any other choice would be ridiculous!

Jv is apperently differently ran where you are from, because around here, it is simply just a way to get some younger kids some extra at bats that don't get in during the varsity game and some younger pitchers a few innings working on their pitching. Most of the time, they have the Varsity players Coaching them, with helmets on of course when coaching first and third bases. They are giving the signs, etc.. The Varsity coaches are either at the concession stand trying to find a snack, talking to other coaches, or sitting in the stands with a chew. If that is how the coaches are going to take a JV game, how are the umpires supposed to repect a jv game. 5 innings or an hour and 1/2 is plenty for something like this after the varsity game. If it is some time where the JV game is all they are playing, I can understand playing a real game and respecting the game, but when it's done like said above, not a chance.

JV is for players not good enough to play on the varsity. To get them some at bats in game situations and see how they play defense in game situations. After 5 innings and it's 9:00pm or later, the only people that care are the mom's and dad's, whose little boys are not getting into the varsity game. 5 innings is enough for them, if they care about winning, then they need to do it in 5 innings or less!

The vote is Wednesday this week, should be interesting! Anyone got any news about this situation! Anything could happen....

Couch should be next in line, he has been waiting for a long time for it, but you never know if he wants to give up softball or not! And then there is the new Super's people, Cavanaugh Trent comes to mind, a lot thought he may be the next coach in basketball, but I see him coming over and being the next baseball coach of the patriots, he will do a good job with that too, seeing he knows the game very well. Couch or Trent will both be great replacements for Coach Hammonds.

Congrats to Clark, heck of a career in high school, hope to see you in the dance in the next 4 years!

Pay here in the 14th region is $50 for a varsity game, no matter how many innings 4 1/2 - forever... JV pay is $40 for 1 pitch or 5 innings which ever gets the game over the fastest... no line ups are exchanged, we usually bat 9 batters an inning or 3 outs, which ever comes first, so when 5 innings are over the game is over, there are more at bats in this game because of the way we do it so when 5 innings are over no matter what the score, the game is over.

Here is another thought on this topic. Varsity games are 7 innings or 10 run rule after 5. JV games are 5 innings or 1 and 1/2 hour time limit, according to KHSAA, and it doesn't say you can play extras if it's tied. Not like it's the world series, it's jv, call it a tie and go home!
