Wow! What a game, all the hype leading up to this game did not disappoint in this one. Tied at 52 with 4 seconds to play, Perry has the ball, Knott plays great defense and forces a 5 second count(a rather fast 5 count some would say) to get the ball back, throw it in to Davis, he drives to the basket and hits the shot, but it gets waved off due to an offensive foul from a push off on the shot, forces overtime. Chris Noble took over in the OT and scored all 9 of the Commodores points, Knott could not hit a shot and only score 2 in the OT, heck of a game. They play again on Feb 12 at Knott, can't wait to watch the 2nd matchup between these 2 teams. Best 2 in the 14th by far. Knott Co. Central 9 13 18 12 2 54 Perry Co. Central 10 8 18 16 9 61 Knott Co. Central (15-5) -- Stamper 20, Cox 15, Roberts 4, Bartrum 2, Davis 7, Slone 6. Perry Co. Central (13-6) -- Amis 11, Noble 19, Martin 14, Cornett 17.

They interviewed Browne yesterday from what I hear, don't know who else made the interview list, should be hiring in a couple days. I wonder if Coach Cobb from Somerset got an interview? -

The Lex Cath and Wolfe game is at 6:30 tonight if Wolfe can get their, and C.J. Leslie and company play at 8:00. Should be a great cold night of basketball. -

With Cox in foul trouble the Patriot offense was just not the same. He is the motor that makes this team go. He is just on another level than everyone else. He makes everyone else on that team look and play a whole lot better. They will need an inside threat if they want to go very far though and also have to play a little defense, they gave up way to many open shots and layups. Great win for them, good luck over the break. Hazard picked it up a lot from the way they played when they lost to Breathitt. Just shows what kind of team they will actually have when they get clicking on all cylinders. -

Noble is healthy at the point guard position and they have given Coach Noble a little time to work with these boys instead of firing a coach every year. They are doing well on the offensive side of the ball but are giving up over 80 pts a game too. Will definitely have to start playing some defense, because we all know that defense wins championships. -

Buckhorn has a pretty good schedule and they will improve too, should be a great District tourney this year. -

St. John struggled to guard Day because Day is an outside shooter/slasher. St. John is not comfortable out of the lane, so when Day got out their he was able to get his 3 pt shot off easily and when St. John did come out a little bit, Day is a whole lot quicker and went right around him. He will be hard to match up with because of this and will have a great year in the 14th region. -

I meant 13th for Knox and Clay and have corrected it, thanks. -

That is called the WYMT, those teams are asked to come and play in the tourney every year, but most of them decline. It tries to get the top teams from the 13,14,and 15 regions, sometimes they come and sometimes they don't. This year only Knox and Clay agreed to come from the 13th. They got Shelby Valley from the 15th, and Hazard, Perry, Buckhorn and Knott from the 14th. Should be a great tourney. -

Would have to agree that Perry with their 5 senior led team will be in the top 20 soon. They played the pants off of Clark and Clark beat Holmes. Definitely a top 20 team. Knott and Hazard will also make the top 20, both have some pretty good talent this year. -

Would definitely not want the job of explaining this one. This is why it is important to have an experienced book keeper and score keeper, to keep these problems from happening, but sometimes they happen even with the best help.
