Big Slick Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Might seem a little harsh to some, but I don't know what else they could have done?
Eta Rho Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Are the semi's and finals always played on the same day in the All "A"?

Theoldguy Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Read the article from the Lexington Herald Leader By Ryan Alessi - ralessi@herald-leader.com Eastern Kentucky University has called off classes and closed its offices for Thursday and Friday because downed tree limbs have made traipsing to class too dangerous. "It's going to take our campus facilities (workers) anywhere from two to three days to just clear the downed trees so that students would be safe," said Marc Whitt, EKU's associate vice president for public relations. "Even with taking the remainder of this week to clear a pathway out, it will take several weeks for facilities services to pick up all the downed branches." Link above to read the rest of the story... Theoldguy So it is to dangerous for the students to walk from their dorms rooms to their classrooms, but it isn't to dangerous to attend a basketball game on the same campus? Only in Kentucky, where Basketball is more important than education!
Obie1 Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 3 hours between games on Sunday. This will make it tough for Elliott, I mean the team coming from the bottom bracket. I hope they use the bench.

Mustang Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 With all of the girls games being played today (Wednesday) albeit with a three hour delay, I'm curious why they didn't stay on the original schedule for the remainder of the tournament. Perhaps some of the boys teams from the outlying areas are unable to be in Richmond on Thursday. With 8 straight girls games being played today at one hour and a half intervals, I'm really curious to see what time the Ballard Memorial - Monticello game, scheduled for 10:30pm actually goes off. My bet is 11:30pm or later.

Only in Kentucky, where Basketball is more important than education! Is it too dangerous for the students to go to class, or are some parts of campus (including dorms) without power? That might be why classes are cancelled but ball games can still be played.

But they are afraid that tree limbs will fall on students walking to class, so that's why they have canceled classes for Thursday and Friday.
True blue (and gold) Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Fans are only coming to one place on campus. It's not like they're walking all over campus trying to get to and from classes. And the place that they are going to (and parking in) is tree free.
gold sunrise Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 And the place that they are going to (and parking in) is tree free. To my knowledge it is.
