Maybe their 1st team is ranked #4 & the 2nd team is ranked #8 ??? How about the Lone Oak Purple Flash in the #10 spot ?

I know Caldwell Co. fans were a little bit disappointed about the lopsided loss and probably Lone Oak Purple Flash was pouring it on them, but I happened to glance at the Tiger's football program and noticed a few lopsided victories. 1998: Caldwell Co 75 Ft. Campbell 8 1996: Caldwell Co 64 Reidland 0 1997: Caldwell Co 61 Heath 7 Caldwell Co 61 Reidland 0 1990: Caldwell Co 61 Reidland 6 Do you think those opponents would have wanted a little mercy, also? Trust me, Lone Oak has been on the receiving end of lopsided losses on many occasions. In the past 3 years, Lone Oak has experienced lopsided losses. It has only made us want to get better.

I was impressed by Glasgow Scotties Kicker #27 Drew Kuzma in the opening game of the Trice Hughes Bowl @ Caldwell County. He was 7 of 7 on PATS & was 7 of 8 on touchbacks. What an advantage it is to have the opponent start on its own 20.

Trust me, I only wish Lone Oak played a Paducah Tilghman or someone comparable instead of Todd County but such is not the case. Lone Oak respects all & fears nobody. Obion (Tn) Central has wore us out the past two years in scrimage games & Caldwell Co beat us last year 31-21.

Lone Oak has played a tough schedule the past 3 seasons (Coach Haskins Era) & with the new reclassification their district is a little easier (no more Trigg Co or Ft. Campbell). Lone Oak will be tested when they travel on the road to play new district foes Calloway & Hopkins Co Central (both are improved from last year) & the Heath game (rivalry) is always a tough battle. This schedule somewhat resembles the 2001 Schedule when Lone Oak went 0-10 & was outscored for the year 518-19 & was shutout 8 times. My the times are changing. GO PURPLE FLASH !!!

What about Lone Oak QB Corey Robinson throwing for 415 yds and 8 TDS 86 rushing yds against Caldwell County Tigers? Lone Oak won 56-3

Glasgow by a bunch. I only wish we (LO) were playing them this game because we met in the playoffs (2004) & Glasgow ran the score up against us (a fake punt in the 4th quarter when leading by 40 plus pts) but such is football I guess.

Lone Oak 41 Caldwell Co 13 Only because Caldwell lost a bunch of quality players to graduation from last years squad. Lone Oak returns virtually everyone but cannot afford to start this game like they did last year (came out flat). Lone Oak should control the line of scrimage on both offense & defense. Robinson should put up some huge numbers in this game.

Lone Oak hosted Union County & won 51-0

Lone Oak Purple Flash Passing: Corey Robinson 26-39-1 405 Yds 7 tds Only played 1 series after the break & had 3 Passing Tds called back because of penalties. They would have totaled over 100 yards. Receiving: Daniel Edwards 7 catches 129 Yards 2 Tds Lg 53 Yds Jamarielle Brown 9 Catches 175 yards 2 Tds Lg 46 Yds Also had 2 Ints of defense

Unfortunately, Trigg didn't play Hopkinsville back in the early 1970's when Trigg won back to back state championships in class A. Trigg probably would have at least won 3 or 4 times.

Lone Oak should have an advantage over Caldwell with a strong senior class & a lot of experienced players returning. Caldwell jumped on Lone Oak early & often in last years game by a score of 28-0 before Lone Oak made it a respectable score of 31-21. Caldwell Co lost a great deal of talent to graduation. Home field advantage scares me a little but I feel Lone Oak has too many weapons & a much improved defense. I'll say Lone Oak prevails by at least 2 to 3 Td's.

Watch the Purple Flash roll this year. They should break the school all-time record for wins in a season (7). The program is starting to look solid for years to come. Coach Haskins has done an outstanding job of putting Lone Oak on the football map.

Lone Oak @ Caldwell County should be a dandy next week.
