Lone Oak quarterback breaks state record!
- BluegrassPreps.com/Kentucky News Network Player of the week!
Corey Robinson (Lone Oak Qb) was 22 of 23 for 463 Yds & 8 Tds. He broke the Ky single season record for touchdown passes completed in a season. Justin Burke (Lex Catholic) 2005 held the record with 62. Corey now has 67 tds for the year. Corey is 233 of 284 (78.2 Pct) for the season which is ahead of Tim Couch (Leslie Co) 1994 mark of 75.1 Pct. Corey has passed for 3687 Yds for the season & led his team to a 10-0 mark.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
FC I don't think you get it. Why would UK want to play a school like WKU or Murray State it wouldn't benefit them. They only stand to lose recruits/players if they were to get beat.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
Paducah Tilghman has history on its side & would not benefit from playing Lone Oak. If Tilghman were to get beat then they may lose a few players to Lone Oak. You never know. Lone Oak would have nothing to lose by playing Tilghman & everything to gain. This is one year I believe Lone Oak would have beaten Paducah Tilghman.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
FYI FC Lone Oak tried to play PT but both teams wanted the home field for gate reasons $$$ & no agreement could be reached that is what ive been told from a reliable source. Also, why would Paducah Tilghman want to play Lone Oak anyway because they have nothing to gain from it. Its like UK playing Murray St or WKU- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
FC when was the last time Ft. Campbell went deep into the playoffs? I am curious, I remember they won a state title in the 70s under Patterson I think.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
Bingo Westsider- Corey Robinson setting new qb records
Power 87, 3 or 4 touchdown lead in the 3rd quarter is not safe just ask Caldwell Co (last year) & Calloway Co who had a 28-7 lead in the 3rd quarter, only to lose 34-28. 40 plus pt lead is safe.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
We scrimmaged Hopkinsville twice in preseason & beat them both times handily. These teams along with Lone Oak would be considered good but certainly not great.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
Power 87, If Lone Oak were to play Trigg Co this Friday, I would say Lone Oak by about 50 plus pts. Secondly, I said Bowling Green is the only team in Western Ky that Lone Oak could not beat. Read the print correctly pal! I agree we haven't seen a great team yet but partner there's not any around this part of the state.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
Just 4 Fun, Also remember Caldwell Co hammered Trigg Co 41-14 a couple of weeks ago, so you may want to consider eliminating them off the list. Paducah Tilghman program is considerably down & they would struggle against Caldwell, Hopkins & Calloway most definetly. On your list, Bowling Green is the ONLY team that Lone Oak couldn't beat but I think Lone Oak could score agains them. Marshall County would probably run the table with that schedule but remember they are 6A.- 2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
Croft was injured in the 1st half against Lone Oak & wasn't effective before the injury. Lone Oak led at halftime.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
Just 4 Fun name the 10 teams & include Lone Oak on the schedule please.- Wky: Who's hot; Who's not!
Fulton City learned last week if you play with fire you get burned.- Who is your favorite to win 2A?
Nobody from Western KY- Mayfield @ Caldwell Co. Predictions
Caldwell Co 24 Mayfield 17- WKY Regional Contest (Week #11)
7) Webster Co 5) Caldwell Co 3) McLean Co 2) Green Co 1) Lincoln Co TB) Lincoln Co- Corey Robinson setting new qb records
Lone Oak spreads the field & runs Tony Franklin's System. Corey is 6'2" and weighs about 190 lbs & runs about a 4.7 & benches 260 & has a cannon arm (can throw a football 70 plus yards). A lot of schools have shown interest in Corey but he is still unsigned & probably want decide until Jan 2008 according to Coach Haskins.- Corey Robinson setting new qb records
Corey Robinson (Lone Oak Senior QB) is only 4 Td passes away from breaking Justin Burke (Lex Cath) 2005 reord of 62 Td passes completed in a single season. Also, Corey is ahead of Tim Couch (Leslie Co) 1994 75.1 percent completion rate with a mark of 76.7 percent. Corey's stats: Att-Cmp-Int Pct Yds Td Long 275-211-4 76.7 3224 59 75- 2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
Lone Oak had the opportunity to beat Fort Campbell last year but had a couple of drop balls & a fumble that really hurt. However, the 2005 Ft. Campbell team was loaded with talent & should have won the 2A Championship. I agree that Lone Oak benefited from the re-alignment. However I think Lone Oak would have beaten Ft. Campbell & Trigg Co this year but we'll never find out.- 2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
You misintrepret what I've said. Looks like I know as much about Bell Co. as you do; I've read and heard about them just as you have. It's no secret that Lone oak has no history at all; I'm not really sure why you wasted time on the 1990-2006 comparisons/percentages?? What I have said is that Coach Haskins has done a tremendous job turning the program around, and for that he should be considered Coach of the Year. Also, I only implied that it would be an honor to play a team like Bell Co. (IF) we were to make it to the state championship. I am not ahead of myself as I am aware there are several other games yet to be played and not one from here on out is to be taken lightly. I believe it's okay to "hope" to meet someone in the state championship...shouldn't that be a goal of every football team when the start their season?- 2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
...to be continued: Fort Campbell 59/Trigg 7, ouch! By the way, I was the one hoping to meet Bell Co. down the road in the state championship game. Now, if that were to happen, I would call that in itself quite an accomplishment for LO. No knock against Bell Co., I know absolutely nothing about them other than they're the number one team in 4A; just being able to play them would be a success for our team (program).- 2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
There are not many teams in Western Ky that are sucessful year in & year out period. Only two come to my mind, Mayfield & Paducah Tilghman but what have they won lately??. Trigg has had some sucess in recent years but during the 90's Lone Oak had a better winning percentage than Trigg Co & football didn't exist at Lone Oak. Bottom line, there aren't many sucessful programs in Western Ky. Coach Haskins is trying to build one at Lone Oak & it looks like he is heading in the right direction.- 2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
No disrespect to Mayfield (i have said they have the best program in Western Ky year in & year out) but I wouldn't necessarily call them a high caliber team this year since they have lost twice at home this year to Fulton City & Calloway County. I think both Mayfield & Trigg Co peaked a little early this year. Power 87 just how bad do you think Lone Oak would beat Trigg County this year ??? Maybe ask Coach Barnes at Caldwell County since Lone Oak crushed them at Caldwell Co & Caldwell Co thumped Trigg County. I think Lone Oak could beat any of those teams you mention this year.- 2007 Best Coaching job in Western, Ky
I personally think Jack Haskins is the best coach in Western Ky. I think David Barnes at Caldwell County has done an outstanding job of turning around a team that was beaten soundly by Hopkins Central & Lone Oak to reel off 6 straight wins & a #1 seed in Class 2A Dist #1. - BluegrassPreps.com/Kentucky News Network Player of the week!
