I believe the Rock has one the last three games. I'm not sure what the overall record is. Does anyone know? Bell may have more wins in this series?

He's not going to miss one (maybe), the Bell Co. coaches are going to go for a 2 point conversion for the win and the Rock holds them.

Log Mountain is a tough place to win, but so is the Rock.

This is going to be a close one. A toss up I'd have to say.

I am having a hard time with this one... The Rock is young and inexperienced, but they do have some great senior leadership. They played well the first three games, but this will be the biggest test they'll have all season. This will be the game of the week in high school football. Bell Co. is not going to just give this one away at Log Mountain. It'll be a coaching chess match. It'll be a good one!!! IT'LL BE A SLOBBERKNOCKER ON LOG MOUNTAIN!!! Hats off to the defense! They controlled this game for the Rock. There seems to be a lot of potential with this team of young players and great senior leadership. This coaching staff just keeps on winning.

I couldn't keep track of how many touchdowns Muse had, but he was impressive. Their whole line did a good job blocking for him. Looks like a good season for the Maroons.

It is always tough to play at Wayne Co. But, the Rocket defense should be even more improved for a second game. I'll take the Rock in a shut out - 21-0.

I noticed that the Rock played a lot of sophmores and juniors last night. The coaching staff is doing a great job getting these younger players ready for friday nights. On that note, they will get even better as the season goes on. Congrats to the Rock for a first game win!! Southwestern fought hard, they looked good. Their season should be a good one. Hope their QB is okay. GO ROCKETS!!!!

I hope Southern can keep this one close. They have two dooseys coming up. Madison Central and then they travel to Mount Vernon to play in the Renfro Valley Jamboree Bowl against the Rock. Breathitt 28 M. Southern 21

You can't tell much about scrimmages, because I am sure the Rockcastle coaches are experimenting with their young players. SouthWestern surely had someone scouting the game. Coach Tom Larkey is too smart to show his hand this early in the season. I am certain that the Rockets are going to be good with their smashmouth style of play as usual. Even with a young team, they will be able to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Has anyone heard how the Rock did at football camp? Is anyone stepping up to replace last years senior class?

I'm sure that QB Bishop is more than capable of handling that job for the Rock. We all know it's going to be smashmouth football with a lot of hand-offs behind Daughtery and Thacker.

Someone hasn't watched these boys play lately. There are some good athletes stepping up and become a vital asset to this team. I think we are going to see a turn around season with several good, younger players making Hasty look even better. Rumor is, Coach Blanton has made a great move this summer by adding a couple of younger, talented assistants to his staff. Andrew Cash being one of them!!! I've heard this is former coach Clayton Cash's oldest boy. Also, Matt Brown who holds a one game scoring record at the Rock. Cash will create some great guards while Brown helps that big, young center and his moves under the post. Could be the sleeper team in the region this year!!!!!!

Who'd you pick? If you take a look at the overall high school career? Clay County looks good, but with a program like Rockcastle County has, those boys look for a good future also. The publicity on BGP that Brad Durham is getting makes me think of the big Thacker boy from Rockcastle. He's gonna be a good one.

Sounds like Clay knows what kind of football program the Rock has if they got that excited over a freshman victory. There's not a lot of 3-A teams that have 29 freshman? Heard this was a close one? I wouldn't pounce on the Rock's field too hard and wake a sleeping giant! :fire: Sounds like the Rock will not be over looking Clay. I'll take the Rock, 28-14.

If Clay Co. has their usual home field advantage and plays their best game all season, there might be a good game. The Rock is use to having a bulls-eye on their back and they will put this one in the win column. They will show why they are still the team to beat in the mountains. 28-14 Go Rock!!!

Clay County's quarterback's record speaks for itself. Being surrounded by great players is also a big asset for him. I haven't kept up with North Laurel much lately. Not knocking North, but I don't think that he has hardly as much talent surrounding him as the other two mentioned. As for the Rock, I understand that the quarterback has a great arm and is very athletic. How good are his surroundings? I hear that he has a lot of skilled athletes by his side. Should make for a good future! :dancingpa

Don't know these two teams that well, but I would have to choose the Rock if it's a home game. 28-7. Word in the mountains is that the freshman are a good team to watch! Are the J.V. suffering from various injuries right now? or is that just bad gossip?

If we are looking at highschool freshman as future college prospects, I will have to give those Rockcastle freshman some hope. I have seen Watts from McCreary Central play and he has faced off against the Rockcastle freshman before. He is the best player on the court when they have played so far. The Rockcastle freshman team is a team with 4 or 5 guys that can score 20 points on any given night. Four years from now, the 12th region will have to deal with the Rockcastle group (if they stay together) on their way to the sweet sixteen.

Don't know how far Mercer will advance this year, but it'll be better than what the old Mercer or Harrodsburg could go. They will no doubt be a team to reckon with in the future.
