Last year, Staed would have been a top player, but - no offense - he wasn't as quick as he needed to be. He was a good high school player in the 12th because he had no competition even close to his height.

This year, McCreary's freshman Aaron Watts. Average 21 ppg for McCreary as an 8th grader. Didn't play but two minutes in the first half against West Jessamine because of foul problems, and had no points, but came in and scored 20 points in the second half and overtime. Possibly the best freshman in the state, and if he ever gets any exposure, he will be one of the top players of the 2010 class. With the talent that UK is currently offering scholarships, they would be a fool not to give him the opportunity, that's if he attends college or even likes UK. This kid will be a star.

Aaron Watts

Freshman

McCreary Central

6'1-6'2

Guard.

(McCreary plays small line-ups because last year, that's all they had. Sometimes they would play four guards, so in high school he has been every position because they play a offense that allows each player to show their skills.)

If he is that good do you think he will finish his years at McCreary Central??

As a McCreary fan, I want him to finish there. There is a lot of people around the state that already know who he is. I am predicting that McCreary makes it to the state tournament this year and that will give him some exposure. If not, he should transfer to a bigger school to be recognized.

If we are looking at highschool freshman as future college prospects, I will have to give those Rockcastle freshman some hope. I have seen Watts from McCreary Central play and he has faced off against the Rockcastle freshman before. He is the best player on the court when they have played so far. The Rockcastle freshman team is a team with 4 or 5 guys that can score 20 points on any given night. Four years from now, the 12th region will have to deal with the Rockcastle group (if they stay together) on their way to the sweet sixteen.
