Johnson Central is going into this game 3-0, coming off a win vs. Logan, WV.

Bryan Station's had their open week. They are coming off a loss to regional opponent George Rogers Clark. This will not be an easy game for both teams. JC lost their QB for about 4 weeks to a broken left collar bone, and some other players out with different injuries. However JC does have alot of depth this season. I dont know much about Bryan Station other than they are a good team, always have good athletes and are well coached. This game being played at JC, I am going to say JC wins this game and improves to 4-0 on the season.

Johnson Central - 39

Bryan Station - 17

The injury to JK Ratliff is one that will definately hurt the Eagles in term of a passing game, but i think the running game will still be strong. This kid is tough and im glad to hear we will have him back for the 2 big games in Ashland and Mason Co. Bryan Station has a lot of good athletes but has a new coach i believe. In their two games they won against a Madison Southern team 35-14 that was hit very hard by graduation and lost to a solid GRC team 31-0. I think that the JC defense will keep Station in check and should win this one pretty easily. My prediction:

JC: 42

Bryan Station: 7

Here's hoping that the kid returns to good health sooner than later. This injury to the qb could slow the maturation of the offense. I could see this game going close until the second half before JC begins to pull away. But I still think this game will be relatively close, within a couple of touchdowns.

It seems like every year JC is going to have a good season, the injury bug bites. This year JC has some decent replacements at qb. With the injury of J.K. JC looses the passing threat, I'm sure Matney will be able to make some adjustments and be just fine until J.K. is back.

With the new alignment next season, this game will be more than just a regular season, non-district game for both teams. This game along with the Ashland game will give JC fans a preview of what the eagles will have to face to get in the playoffs from now on.

If JK was playing I would predict JC to put the ball in the air quite a bit. Last year I believe that Taylor caught 4 or 5 touchdown passes from Music against the Defenders. However, with Ratliff watching this one I expect JC to keep doing what they have been doing...pounding it on the ground. I keep waiting for Blake Johnson to have a breakout game and this may be the game. With a sophomore under center look for JC to keep the offense fairly simple.

Will Bryan Station become a district game next year for JC?

Yes, because of the new football alignment. The district will be Johnson Central, Ashland, Bryan Station, Woodford County and Montgomery County.

Now that's a whole new ballfield. WOW

Bryan Station, has a good young ball club this year, with tons of athletes. If johnson central can come out and just pound it, like they are so good at, they will win this game pretty handily. They need to run the ball straight ahead and wear Station down, if they try to run outside with sweeps or tosses, Station will smother that with their speed. Station can not stop the little dives, and veers, also I think that Central has a distinct advantage up front in the trenches.

Don't look now, but the Herald-Leader's Cantrall Ratings have Central at #5 in Class 3A and at #19 overall in Kentucky, all classes.

That's easily the highest the Golden Eagles have ever been in that rating system. Even in 2000 when the AP Poll had us at #4 in Class 4A, I still don't think we cracked the top ten in those ratings.

It's a very sudden paradigm shift for Mr. Cantrall's numerical opinion of Eagle football.

This is a very interesting match-up for me due to it being a test between two schools that will be in the same district with Ashland next year. It’s hard for me to predict this one since I don’t know much about Bryan Station and Johnson Central is untested this year (haven’t played a tough opponent yet). I’ll be pulling for our current district to shine, so let’s go Eagles.

Now, that wasn’t too hard for me to type.

I am almost inclined to agree with you. However, I am beginning to believe that the teams JC has played are a lot better than people (myself included) have given them credit for being.

NL defeated a good Leslie County team this week 17-0.

South Point defeated a team that played Ironton, OH to within a last-second Field Goal.

Logan is a probable playoff team in WV (like last year) with a very good quarterback.

I think more of the credit needs to go to the JC defense. It has been outstanding this season against some very good players.
