  1. I’m having a hard time understanding exactly what is changing in Ohio and possibly Kentucky ? Are we just giving what we are currently doing a name ? Malls, gyms, etc are already closed... What am I missing ?
  2. Most people who live in West Virginia never leave West Virginia.... They may make a trip to Myrtle Beach 2 to 3 times in their entire lives...
  3. The $50,000 dollar hit my 401k took is absolutely not worth the $8 wireless charger I’m using that amazon delivered 2 days after I ordered it
  4. I’m kind of wondering what the advantage of being one of the elites who is able to be tested is at this point ? Let’s say I tested negative. Great. Huge relief. I still don’t know about the health of my wife, son, parents, in-laws, coworkers and the 100s of other people I may come in contact with each day. So if you test negative and you aren’t willing to absolutely isolate yourself until this thing is over, then what’s the point ?
  5. I’ll be pulling for Ashland to win the whole thing... They are such a hard team to gauge though. They seem like the high school version of Gonzaga. They didn’t shy away from competition early in the year with wins over Capital (WV), Warren Central, Butler and Trinity. We really haven’t seen them play a team that would win a game in the sweet 16 since early January due to being in a weak region. I’ll go with The Tomcats in this one. If they continue to shoot the 3 ball as well as they have the last few weeks, they’ll be a problem for anyone at state.
  6. Had some New Orleans pasta tonight. One of my favorites. 1 box pasta, we use penne... 4 tablespoons Cajun seasoning 1 pound shrimp 2 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, sliced into thin strips 1 teaspoon cayenne 2 tablespoons butter 1 green bell pepper, chopped 1 red bell pepper, chopped fresh mushrooms, sliced 1 onion, diced 2 cups heavy cream 1/2 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon lemon pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese As much fresh spinach as you like. Coat shrimp and chicken in Cajun seasoning. Cook pasta according to package Cook chicken, onion, mushrooms and bell peppers in skillet with butter. Add cream along with other seasonings and pasta, bring to a simmer. Add spinach and simmer until spinach has cooked down. While simmering, steam the shrimp. Add shrimp and cheese, stir together and serve.
  7. Absolutely delicious and very easy to make for a crowd. I substituted the orange juice for orange slices because I was vacuum sealing the bags for the sous vide and couldn’t have that much liquid in them. I think next time I would do them in the slow cooker. Very good....
  8. I’ve got this one together. Plan on putting it in the sous vide before I go to bed for tacos during the UK game tomorrow.
  9. Hanger steak is one of my favorites. None of our local butchers carry it so it’s tough to find around here. I see it at Walmart occasionally but I try to avoid that place like the plague.
  10. Not as weird as you think... I was never a huge Kobe or Lakers fan but I obviously understand what the man meant to basketball. I’ve found myself thinking about him and just shaking my head several times over the last 2 days.
  11. I’m upset over Kobe but the loss of his 13 year old daughter really breaks my heart. That girl had 60,70,80 years left to live. It’s just a damn shame all around.
  12. Thanks ! I’ll give mine a try this weekend.
  13. A side not for the blt pasta: I usually add the lettuce and stir just before serving to avoid it getting soggy...
  14. I’m big on side dishes and this is by far my favorite one. BLT pasta salad 1 pound bacon cooked and diced 12 oz bow tie pasta cooked and cooled 1/2 cup mayonnaise 3/4 cup ranch dressing, do yourself a favor and buy the package of the powdered ranch dressing mix, make it and use it for this recipe... you’ll thanks me later... 1 1/2 cup diced tomatoes 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded 1/3 cup red onion diced 1 cup (or more) romaine lettuce As much green onion as you like and basically any other salad toppings you like. I always throw some black/green olives and sunflower seeds in this. You may need to add a little more ranch or mayonnaise depending on how many other salad items you add to this. You want the dressing to coat all the vegetables and pasta. Mix everything together and let this chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes and enjoy.
  15. Also, for anyone who uses the meat tenderizing powder, does it work ? Do you apply it before you marinate or after you marinate and before you cook ?
  16. Does it go all the way through the meat and if it does should you try to avoid that ?
  17. Also, for those of you who haven’t cooked a piece of meat similar to flank or skirt, thinly slicing against the grain is essential.
  18. I actually have one of those in a drawer somewhere at home. I need to find it and give it a try.
  19. I’ve been in a recipe rut lately. How about we share some more of our favorites ? Carne Asada Tacos: 1 to 2 pounds flank or skirt steak. Marinade... Mix together: 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 limes, juiced 2 tablespoons cider vinegar 2 tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon ground cumin seed 4 garlic cloves, minced 4 jalapeño peppers, minced 1 bunch fresh cilantro, leaves and stems, chopped. Cover steak with marinade and marinate at least 6 hours and up to 24 hours. Flip steak a few times while marinading to evenly cover. Pick off most of the bits of cilantro and jalapeño before cooking. I usually Sous Vide this one for 4 hours and then sear but you can cook this as you would any other steak. The key to flank steak is to keep it rare to medium. Serve as you would any other taco.
  20. Saw that earlier. Incredibly frustrating. I know next to nothing about aviation but it seems to me that if the police department grounded their helicopters, all helicopters, other than medical emergency flights should be grounded.
  21. Celebrity deaths usually don’t affect me. I always feel bad for the family but they just usually don’t move me much. For some reason, Anthony Bourdain and Kobe make it feel like I’ve lost one of my own. Terrible.
  22. Ashland builds on their previous win over Russell and wins this one by a couple of touchdowns. Ashland 28 Russell 14
  23. I absolutely love this. Not because it’s Kansas, but because the NCAA going after one of the few schools that has the money and the desire to fight them. UNC showed the world how to fight the NCAA, UL gave us an example of how not to. I’d love to see this one make it to court. I’d love to see the NCAA have to answer for their selective enforcement of their rules. I hope Kansas is able to bring down all the big programs with them. Duke, Arizona, UL, Oregon, all of them, including UK. In a perfect world, Adidas, Nike and Under Armour schools all get put on notice. Kids are getting paid, and I’m fine with that, but let’s be transparent about it. Let’s blow the whole thing up and start over...
  24. Pulling for Ashland but this is a David vs. Goliath type matchup.
