Does Montgomery play Estill again this year?

:thumb: Objective numero uno will have to be focus. I predict last night's loss will be what it takes to gel the team back together and get their heads in the right place. When the engineers have their heads in the game - there arent a lot of teams in the 14th team that come close to matching up.

And he's got hops. Has he been able to control his off court behavior? I know there was some talk of him not being able to play at the first of the year over a fight or something.

By who? I didnt see a whole lot of kids on the Estill side. There were some questionable calls that the parents got a little tweaked about - but certaintly dont think it was riot material.

Montgomery County is on something of a good streak sense losing to Bath County. They have knocked off Estill and Lee and played a great Pendelton County team close tonight. Was this at the Barn?

Sounds like an exciting game to watch. I havent seen Jackson City play this year - but will be there for the game Tuesday.

No surprise here. Congrats to Lee on the ability to bounce back from a tough loss at home.

Very true. It will be interesting to see which of the two teams handles their situation better. Estill has been the better team throughout the season but now have slipped up as of late....and Powell has now came close to defeating the Region's top ranked team. Will it take Powell's fortunes or Estill's misfortunes to wake one of them up? Only one way to find out. March 1. Beatyville. BE THERRRR! :laugh:

I've seen Joby Glass play - and one thing that isnt weak is his serve. Its one of the harder ones in the state I'd say. What about Bath County? Is Big Mike Adams still in Owensville?

Well - I owe Professor a big "you called it" on this one. This game should be to Powell the same deal as Owsleys game with Knott County. Take pride in the fact that you were there with a good team, even though you didnt pull out the W.

Ah, right you are. I forget post-senior night home games. I will most likely be in Irvine for that one.

Chris, I believe. He looked absolutely brilliant for his age tonight during Estill's come from behind to tie shortly after the beginning of the 2nd half. His Freshman partner and crime - Number 4 hit two or three big treys and was great with the ball tonight.

Woah, woah, woah. I'm going to have to throw up a big red flag on that one. Estill has underachieved? I will give it to you tonight for sure....but where else have they done so? They have had losses to Clark County, Lee County, Montgomery County, and 2 huge prep schools from Florida and Tennesee - several of which went down to the wire. Estill has overcome my own personal pre season prediction - and I still have them as my favorite to win the district. Trust me. Coach Tiller and floor general Dixon will have the boys ready for Hazard, Berea, and the 56th district.

I think this could be a good game for both teams, really. Breathit played phenominal which tells them they can. Estill played flat and without enthusiasm - which should be a wake up for Hazard.

Although it will go down as a L in the win lose column - this should really boost Owsley's spirits. Although they werent able to send it into another OT or pick up the win - the fact that they played themselves into that kind of posistion should be something to take pride in.

Breathitt over Estill by 12.

Final from Jackson. Breathitt shot lights out, and Estill just had no fire power at all. They played sluggish throughout - though Dixon and freshman Hoover pulled Estill back into the game - the bobcats eventually pulled away again and controlled the game at the end. I didnt catch his name - but Number 30 for the Bobcats was great tonight. An excellent shooter . Just two random thoughts. Sense Estill's 7 game winning streak mid season they have now dropped 4 of 5 and looked very sluggish and well, uninterested tonight. Rather Breathitt was pouring on the early lead or Estill was coming back to tie or take the lead - the players or the bench (with the exception of Dixon and Hoover) seemed to not really care. This is the first real game I've seen out of Breathitt - and let me just say - I dont know how Breathitt has went 3-20 this year so far. They shot lights out all night long and really controlled the game.

I couldn't agree more, Bobcat. The couple of games I've been to in Beatyville - and the couple others I've seen with Lee County faithful following their Bocats - the fans have tramenodous respect for each player on both teams, the officials, and even opposing fans. That's a rare thing in today's smash mouth game. I have wondered - whats the story behind the extended fingers during free throws?

Several games for 56th district teams tonight. Lee will travel to Menifee, Estill will travel to Breathitt, Owsley has Knott at home, and Powell has PCC in Stanton. Should be four interesting games. Menifee is 4-17 this season but have played well against good teams. They opened the season with a 1 point loss to Estill before getting beat twice by Montgomery by 10 or less both times, blew out Wolfe County by nearly 40, and lost to the same Bath County team that went into the Barn and beat Montgomery county a week or two later. Menifee could very well make an enjoyable game to watch in Beatyville but I wouldnt venture to say they may knock off the Bobcats. The Engineers of Estill County make their way to Breathit County. Breathitt currently shows a record of 3-20. However, Breathitt's most recent win, which came back on the 24th of January was a 26 point whopping of the same Menifee county team that fail to the Engineers by one back in November. Breathitt also managed to go into Leslie County and come away with a win - something that only they and North Laurel have managed to. This Leslie county team has managed to beat both Knott County Central and Buckhorn and fell just short of Hazard in a 2 point game @ Hazard. Estill is 4-3 when playing teams on their away court with their only three losses coming to Montgomery County in the Barn, a 2 point heartbreaker at Johnson Central, and they let a lead get away in Lee County before falling by 7 in Beatyville. Estill should take this one and prove that they are one of the best two teams in the 14th. Owsley will probably have the toughest night among the 56th district teams as they host Knott in Booneville. Owsley, who has only managed two wins at home this season and have not won in their last 5 games. However, the last game the Owls did win was a shocking upset of June Buchanan in the All A Classic. JBS is 18-4 overall this season and has wins over Montgomery County, Perry County Central, and Cordia at home. Their only losses have come to such teams as Henry Clay, Letcher County, and yes - the Owls. On the other side of the coin, Knott County is coming off three big wins sense losing to PCC in Perry County. Knott has sense weathered Breathitt County for a 14 point win in Overtime, beat Letcher County by a handful, and then took PCC to overtime at home before beating them by 4 in a great game. This game could very well be a good one if Owsley comes ready to play. If the Owls pick up the win tonight it could very well give them the confidence to push hard at districts and perhaps give Lee County a game. The problem is - the Owels have had a very hard time picking up wins all season long. I am going to take Knott by a very short margin in this one. Finally, the Pirates of Powell County invite PCC to Stanton tonight in what is sure to be a very important game. Powell has struggled all year long with closing out big games. They had a big lead on Estill before EC rushed back to force an overtime where the pirates eventually lost by 5. They fell just short of Lee County in Stanton and had the same result with Clay County losing by 5 and 3 respectivelly. PCC is 8-3 against other 14th region teams while Powell is just 1-7 with their only region win coming over Owsley County. The Pirate's regional record outside of the district is 0-2 with those two losses coming from Buckhorn and Jackson City. Perry County has already defeated Buckhorn once and havent played Jackson City but have defeated Lee County who knocked off Jackson City at EKU. PCC should have no trouble with Powell and I take them by around 14 or 15. These four games could be very interesting and if a couple of them go one way or another - could really add a little flavor to the pending games on March 1 and 3 in Beatyville.

Estill returns most of the lineup from their 4th in state team from last year which also won the 10th region title. They have a couple players, Senior Amanda Hymer and Junior Brooke Reynolds who took home the "all-state" title last year.

Hicks is an outstanding player - but I wouldnt even put him in my top 3 in the region. Bailey, Gilbert, and Dixon have an all around better game than Hicks in my oppinion. I have seen quite a bit more of Gilbert and Dixon but the couple of games I seen Hicks play in - he was good but not top tier good. Just my opinion.
