What teams make it to the ninth region tournament????

Dixie was once again outcoached. The guards for Dixie played their hearts out. Great effort girls against a strong NCC team.

D- I think it has been terrible. No coverage of teams other than the top rated 3 or so. How about some pictures of a variety of players, instead of providing enough pictures of two or three players to make their own scrap book from. Also, although not unique to the Enquirer, I would love to read about some awesome defensive plays, rebounding, team spirit, or physical toughness mixed in with the reports of points scored. As previously discussed on here... there are more players contributing to the game than just the top scorer!:irked:

HOT... Highlands Lady Bluebirds...Key wins recently over Boone and Conner...an exciting game in overtime with Notre Dame.....Great group of girls to watch... Good luck the rest of your season. Very True.... Long, Beasley, Hodges, ...very good players. And work very well together. Also have great bench depth!! Congrats on their 11-0 record!!

Dixie seems be falling short in several areas! Any "professional" opinions from anyone who has seen them play this year? They surprised some teams early in the season. It seems as is now they are often being outcoached! They NEVER press their opponents, players don't seem to be "familiar" with screens!! and they concentrate so much on their outside game that the inside is almost non-existent. When things just aren't working..no changes are made! With so many good coaches in the 9th...this one needs to step up and give her team a chance to make a name for themselves!! They ARE a small team with only 2 players with much Varsity experience (1 senior and a sophmore who began playing Varsity as an 8th grader)...but they are playing with great heart and hustle. Hopefully their team spirit will continue throughout the rest of the season! Any words of wisdom??

Grammar and Punctuation mistakes?!! Is that it? Surely not the whole story.

It seems as if Dixie has surprised a few teams so far this season! Any thoughts on how their season may continue to play out? Chances on winning their district? It seems as if they have consistently scored at least 60 points in several games. Surprising considering I thought they had lost all of their height and shooters from last year. Scoring now seems to be well shared by the team according to box scores! Nice to see!!!

Any word on the outcome of this game.

Wow!!! Well said, and this unselfish style of play that occurs when players aren't worried about "how many points did I score?" is amazing. Our team lost some talented players from last year to this year for various reasons, but the difference in the team because of the attitude toward team play this year vs last is amazing. Sooooo true that often what makes a difference in the games does not often show up in the box scores.:dancingpa

Anybody know how the games at the shootout played out?

It sounds like so far Dixie has been a surprise to their opponents. Being very young and losing 3 starters from last year!!! Sounds like they have nothing to be ashamed of in this game. Here's wishing you a great season!

Sounds like Conner has had a great opening to the season. Any info on how the other teams looked and how games played out in the Dixie Tournament? Who is in the Final game tonight?

Great game for the Lady Colonels! Great win for the NCC Breds! The last 10 seconds of the game....NCC did what they had to do...they kept Dixie"s shooters from getting the ball. Thus they won!! Poor officiating also was quite a factor in this game! I do believe the Dixie team deserves some huge props for coming on strong the last half of their season. They continued playing with heart and determination in a District and Regional tournament where they were often reminded that they were the "only" team in the tournament with a losing record! Congrats and thank you to Coach Spritzky. She treats her girls with respect, expects them to give 110% ( and reminds them when they aren't doing so!) and never lets the teams "record" get in the way of their goals. From the beginning of the season to the end....the team learned a lot of valuable information about the game and themselves, and had a good time doing it! That is HUGE!! Anxious to see what next year brings!!!!!

Congratulations to the Lady Colonels. Way to play together as a team. Dixie's defense shut downs Ludlows scorers! Kassi Wofford just could not get a shot off with Dixies #11 in her face. Awesome game for senior Katie Mayes!!! Good luck in the 9th!!!!!!

I probably mis-spoke on true lineup change. It is actually a role change within the starting lineup. Sorry for the confusion.

Frosh Bowman injured her shoulder in a game with Notre Dame. She will be having surgery on March 5th and be out 6 months. Prayers and good wishes are with her for a speedy recovery.

I think this will be a very close game. Dixie has improved greatly from the beginning of the season. They are playing true "team" ball right now. The line up has changed slightly from the last game with Ludlow and it seems to be working for them. I think their defense can definitely handle Ludlow. The team really wants this win for their seniors who have traveled quite a journey with this team. They are full of heart and determination. Ludlow is a great team and also seem to play "team" ball quite well. I think Dixie will pull it out 52 to 46.

The 2 seniors at Dixie! Firth and Mayes don't get much recognition partly because Dixie is really struggling this year. They both have turned it up at some very opportune times to help boost the teams morale. The freshman guard Rader doesn't score much but sure makes things happen on the floor. Her defense is great, just needs to turn up the offense! Allison Long for Conner definitely flying under the radar. Great player, nice young lady, AWESOME shooter! Bradley for Boone! Still don't hear much about her even after success last year. For some reason she seems to often be overlooked. Jackson for Notre Dame. Yes..it's a team loaded with talent....but she is consistently on!! Tolliver for SK. One of the best ball handlers around. Her shooting is not too shabby either!

I'm not sure I understand the question. Who said anything about the coach not being successful? I am just saying that I think the rule about not being able to move middle school kids up, doesn't always make sense to me.
