Who are the best sophomores in the 10th Region?

I feel that Bracken County has some of the better talent in the Class of 2009.

Tiffany McDowell, Alex Rogers, and Haley Ware have been good players for some time and need to improve, but there is lots and lots of potential there.

 

Chelsea Ahrens is a project no doubt, but at times this year she has looked dominant and at other times has not received enough playing time. I hope the coaches realize that she is still a student of the game and dont give up on her to early.

Will that be the year we make a run?

Blaine Menke from Mason Co. she is are only sophmore and has lots of potential.

As a current coach of the Lady Bears I have yet to see anyone on the team that would be what I consider to be dominant. Do I believe Chelsea Ahrens has the ability to someday dominate--- You better know I do.

Emily Hinkson and Talaken Myers of Paris will hear their names called a few times over the next two years!

I jsut wish their coaches would see this improvement... These girls work hard as do the rest of the team.. I just wonder sometimes if hard work is noticed and if they are rewarded for their hardwork? One game 15 minutes and the next game its like 2 minutes..

LadyBearMom it seems to me that you have a misunderstanding of high school girls basketball.. You need to remember that Playing time is EARNED, but not GUARANTEED...

 

I am sure the coaches play who they feel gives them the best chance to win..

Although Bracken doesn't have a standout soph. I do believe they are outstanding as a class and a group.They play as well together as the highly touted frosh. I don't want to wish a year away but I can say I really look forward to seeing those girls as seniors and the frosh as juniors. I think it's going to be a real good time to be a Lady Bear Head Coach. As individuals go Menke form Mason is first rate. It will be interesting to see if she can elevate the team play around her once Lacey, Dee,and Litz depart.

Bear dont confuse the Menke sisters.. The one that plays a lot of Varsity is just a freshman.. The sophomore plays on the JV!

Remember a team is 5 players working together as 1 cohesive unit.. DOnt need a standout if they all play well together..

Absolutely correct on both counts. I did mean Keller. I guess she's been up long enough I thought she had to be at least a soph.

yeah there are some players that hang around for a really long time.. you think they are seniors and then you look and only a sophomore.. I know what you mean Big D Bear

I agree they are a tight group of players but you must rember that alot of other girls at other schools continue to work on there game, as well i believe that there are a few of the girls you mentioned who as well work on there game out of the gym and thats what it takes you have to want to get better and do the things to make yourself better when you are not in the gym practice during the year isnt going to make anyone better its what you do in the off season that make you the player you are.
