I agree and disagree with alot said. I think as far as seeding goes. If you go by win/loss totals it would be unfair due some schools play different teams. As far as in the district some teams don't play each other that are in the same district during the year. As in the case with our district last year three of the four teams were pretty much equal with Mason Co. being the top team. The blind draw worked fine and to me was fair. Some may disagree. This year is another story. The boys are still pretty much equal with the exception of Mason Co. of course. On the girls side, I think it should come down to two teams. I love my Lady Panthers but bottom line they are not as good as the Lady Bears or the Lady Saints. It would be a shame one of them draw Mason Co. and did not get to play in the district against each other. I know there will be some that will agree with me and some will not. But its just my opinion. Bottom line draw is a good idea, and so is seeding.Sometimes it should come down to good sportsmanship.

Is this something that gets voted on year to year. Or when you decide to seed or draw it stays that way.

Sorry, But I am not sure now. Wears # 22 on the JV team I was hesitant in writing that. I like to be sure I give credit were credit is due. Just like my rebounding stats. Could be a little low, I will give a couple just so I know I not cheating anyone.

The stats I have for the game I was not too sure about. I am not sure I have the names right. I think I do. If not I am sorry. I might have Meyer and Crawford mixed up. Hard to tell when some don't wear same numbers on JV and Varsity Jefferson 9, C. Ahrens 6, Crawford 5, Burden 5, Haight 4, McDowell 4, Figgins 3, Ware 3, Riggs 2 St.Pat 13 11 13 12 Bracken 7 13 7 14 Ahrens also a fine young lady I counted 6-7 blocks and about the same in rebounds. Also just a Soph. I thought she was a Junior. Just how tall is she. I was told 6'1" Also JV game was won by St.Pat 46 - 31 Haight led Lady Bears with 7, Burden 6, Meyer 5, Ware 4, Crawford 4, Rogers 2, C Ahrens 2, Workman 1 Rogers 7-8 rbs, Haight 5-6 rbs, C. Ahrens 6-7 Rbs 3-4 blocks.

Took a little trip to see this game. It turned out to be a turnover fest . I looked at my BGP buddy Bigg Daddy all he said was "Unforced Turnovers". But it was a good game. Alot of missed easy shots. But the Lady Bears are young and have a bright future. With five min. to go in the game down by 12 Bracken Coach puts 5 freshmen on the floor. Most of them I would have to say whould not have been top reserves normally. They put on a show. They went out and cut the lead to 5 at one point. In the end they were forced to keep fouling and St Pat hits most of their freethrows to seal the deal. Oh when Bracken made the switch St. Pat kept their starters in, good thing they did. Of the players there were a few younger Lady Bears that stood out me #00 Haight, good rebounder and will drop in points, Freshman #10 Burden, fast, good defender, just a ball of fire #12 Crawford, much like Burden #50 Rogers, just a hard nose worker, can rebound and block you out of the gym.( did not see the scoring tonight but can put them up) By the time this group are JRs and Srs more people will know about them St. Pat also has a great young team with alot of talent to come. Best of luck to both teams.

I think St.Pat is a hard team to beat at home but the Lady Bears need this win. After a strong start this year I had high hopes for them. I will take the Bears in tight game. Save me a good seat Big Daddy, wait there are no good seats there

Ureach...Did I say the coaching caused any loss ?...No. Did I say don't question the the coach. ? Yes .... It was just a warning to Mojo that people get mad when you do that. I learned that the hard way. But I am sure he knew that. I for one don't know Coach Johnson and would not question him. I have been to a few games that he has Coached and would have nothing bad to say about him. I did say that it does happen on many teams that some kids don't get PT. Have you ever asked why certain players don't get playing time on this site? I know the answer.. Augusta fell behind early.Outscored early 16-10 in the first 20-12 in the second. The story is the same old story as of late.... TURNOVERS I counted 10 in the first half, second half 2 maybe be more.... A lot of not finshing of shots too. Owens showed great leadership on the floor for St.Pat led the game with 30, Anderson also big with 16. Like stated above he was big for the Patties early on. Augusta was led by Matt Groves with 23 points including 4 3's. Hardymon also with a another good game with 18 points and some big rebounds. Mr. Consistent...Dustin Staggs added 10points Mofford 6, Hamilton 4, J. White 2 JV game was a good game. Panthers win 55-46 Ty Krebs led the Panthers with 19 points, 8 rbs Chris Mofford also with a good game 16 Points, 7 Rbs Wait one more Bradye Hamilton with 14 Points S.White 3, R Kelsch 2, D Fryman 1

Is this a hard game to Predict? .... St.Pat coming off a big win at home against Deming. Augusta coming off a hard loss to Nicholas Co. and a loss to Harrison. I think both teams will come out strong.... Augusta needs to limit the turnovers especially in the first half. After the last game at the den with St. Pulling off the win in the final seconds I think the Panthers will play some inspired ball. If they put together a game like they did at Harrison I think Atown will pull it off in a big way. It seems like you never know what team will show up for both of theses teams. It could also depend on what BGP's show up too...:sssh: Sorry Panther15Z30

Wow...... Now the Patties come to the Panther's Den thursday..... It will be a good one.

In a game were Augusta was down 18 at the half they battled back in the second half but came up short. Even in a loss I think Augusta played hard if not for a 23-10 Harrison scoring edge in the 2nd this was a close game. Mullins from Harrison was the game leading scorer with 23 points. He must have hit 5 or 6 3's.Custard was also impressive to me, scored 13 points. Back to my Panthers, they did very well protecting the ball. We had a few more turnovers in the first half but can't recall but maybe a couple in the second. I counted a total of 11 in the game. I think they are turning the corner now and are in for a good run. As far as Augusta goes its it comes down to Josh White and Ty Krebs. Josh is a decent catcher but will need him in the feild. No one else besides Krebs (pitcher/1st Basemen) could consitantly feild a ball. TY also stepped in and pitched last year. After never have had Pitched before did a OK job. The team just did not feild the ball well. Having Ryan Kelsh back pitching this year should be a plus. I have not seen him pitch but hear he is ok.

Thats why I save you a seat. A polar bear and panther fan side by side How often will you see that? Everyone knows I am biased but you can't beat the Den. Too bad it could not hold more people. For the big games and big crowds would have to say the Feildhouse

After all the hype on this game I was a little surprised in the out come. Not being a fan of either team just wanted to see a good game. I have seen Mason Co. play twice this year and BB this was my first. BB is a fine defensive team, to hold the real deal Miller to 10 points good job. I think Mason Co. is also a very fine Defensive team. The way they swarm to the ball is just unreal at times. BB seemed a little gun shy at times in the early part of the game. I don't know if it was being scared of shots being blocked or trying to get Masons D to over commit. I think a little of both. Off nights happen. I am sure both teams will have a great remaining season. Good Luck to both. One more side note. The officals in this game let the teams play at times and at times seemed to control the flow. I don't think they were biased in anyway to either team. They did seem late in blowing the wistle at times well after the play was over.

No thats not what I was implying about Chris. I just wanted to know what people think about him starting games. I think he is for his age a good player who works hard and is progressing well. That statment was all about Dustin and just Dustin. I like the way he plays he takes his shots, makes shots, and if it is not there he will pass it off. I do think there is something there that other players on the team could learn from. I will not get on this site and bad mouth any of these kids. They are all great young men.

What does Augusta need to do to stop these big guys? Not that #50 is very big but we seem to struggle with the Tyler Hamiltons out there.

Chris had a good game, I know there are alot of fans that think he should be starting on Varsity. What do people think? Dustin Staggs has been the most consistant player. What I like about him is that he is a real team player, to him its not all about Dustin.

Up by 10 after the break N.Co would cut the lead to 5 after 3. The fourth N.Co scores 28 to Augusta's 13 and pullls away at the end. Big game for #50 of N. Co. with 23 points. JV game won by Augusta 53-33 Ty Krebs led with 12 (all in 1st quarter), J. Gray 10. S. White 9, C. Mofford 9, B. Hamilton 6, M. Saunders 4, R Kelsch 3. Nicholas never gave up and played hard, Most JV starters sat this game for Augusta. They tried the 2nd half to get Mofford to dunk, Did not work out, keep trying.

I am with you Big Daddy, I know where you are coming from, as a fan and a frustrated one at times. If it works don't fix it. If it doesn't work, you don't need to re-invent the wheel but maybe try something a little different. I have only seen a few Lady Bear games this year and can not make a strong statement on the line ups used. As far as "smart" ball players go LadyB, they do have some on this team.
