That's just what he told me. I don't know if they can or not this year, but I do know that the Birds' have two really good senior guards in Nic Simpson and another guy named Greg. Sorry, I can't remember his last name.

He first committed to Wittenberg to play, but then decided to go to Coastal Carolina to just be a student with his brother, Marcus. Then last night I heard that he was considering staying close to home and playing ball for Thomas More. He lives right down the street from campus. He could literally walk to school if he decides to go there.

I talked to Coach Kelsch two weeks ago and he said that his team had a very good summer. They traveled to Georgetown's team camp and beat some good teams. He also said that Dustin "Shooty" Staggs had a great summer by leading the team in both points and rebounds. IMO, I believe that A-town will surprise some people this year. Like Jay Bilas said, Coach Kelsch will always have his team competing and playing hard. Good luck to the Augusta Panthers this year.

I also heard that St. Henry's Jordan Griffin is also considering playing for the Saints this year.

I talked to Coach Schlarman tonight at Highlands High School's open gym and he was not interested in the CCHS job. He also said that Highlands would compete for the 9th region title this season. Buddy Biggs (Ashland) and Chad Simms (Pendleton County) both said "NO" in applying for the Campbell County job.

I know for a fact that both Buddy Biggs and Chad Simms have both said no. Also, Brad Carr would be a good one to get!

I attended the tournament Saturday morning and was impressed with all the big-time coaches there recruiting. For its first year, the tourney turned out to be pretty spectacular. Roy Williams, Billy Gillispie, Tom Crean and Thad Matta were just a few of the many coaches that I saw.

Pendleton County's assistant Brad Cox has applied. He would be a good hire.

True. With the three point line Talbert probably would have scored 100-200 more points in high school. He ended up with 3,100+.

As one of Nate's good friends, I just talked to him about an hour ago. He is currently in Bristol, Virginia with the White Sox advanced rookie league team, the Bristol White Sox. He said that he was going to be used from the bullpen to start his professional career. Their season starts tomorrow. Good luck to Nate!!

I'm glad I got to read that link because I wanted know why Bevars didn't play Fraliex. IMO I believe that he deserved more than 5 garbage minutes. One situation early in the 2nd half, Fraliex played about a minute, didn't do anything wrong and got pulled. He came off the court shaking his head. I felt for the kid. Kentucky was down 20+ pretty much the entire game.

He is from Trinity and he will be playing in the Atlantic Sun conference next year with Division 1 Kennesaw State.

I'm sorry to hear this. Austin Blair is one of my brothers' friends. My prayers go out to the Blair family.

I traveled to Bowling Green to watch. It was never really a game. Eric Gordon looked like man amongst kids out there. He had 32 points and 6 rebounds. If he had played the whole game, he would of had 50. Kentucky had a lot of trouble getting back on defense and it gave Indiana a lot of easy buckets. I thought Kentucky's best performers were Matt Walls, Greg Rice, Thomas Coleman and Austin Hill. Hopefully Knowles will provide something more for KY next week. Congrats to Indiana in Round 1.

If you've ever seen the Kentucky High School Basketball "The Season" documentary presented by ESPN, they talk about the 1928 Carr Creek team. They mention some of the stuff that rojas4 said and more. They said that CC only had eight players and they all were related some way. It also talks about how they didn't have transportation so they had to walk to practice and games. They had to walk 15 miles one way once for a ballgame. It's a really interesting story. Carr Creek wouldn't be a bad choice.
