doomer
This tourney started this morning. I will post what results I know about for interested parties. There are Derek Smith and Shining Star teams involved. At 8AM today Derek Smith U16 beat Capitol City Blazers, OH by around 20.

doomer
Sorry. When I got there, I couldn't find a recap of scores. However, Derek Smith U17 East lost two close games. Know Derek Smith West lost their second game, not sure about first. Addidas OBC U15 I believe won both. Derek Smith U16 won their second also. DS East played at 8AM today. shooterx3
DS 16U HAD a huge win over KC pump and run, a nationally ranked program by 2 on a last second put back, Roy Williams was there to watch the entire game There has been a big Turnout of College Coaches at this event, from some places like UCLA, Duke, UK, Cincy, Louisville, North Carolina and everywhere in between. DS east has Lost 3 competitve games to nationally ranked opponents, Carolina Raptors (who won Bob Gibbons as 16u) New England Playaz, and Seatle Rotary Select. Kentucky kids just don't have the inside strength that the national powers have who have multiple 6-8 and up players. Very good tournament though and great exposure for Kentucky kids. DS 16u plays DC Assault at noon today for their pool championship.

doomer
Sorry I couldn't provide better details. There were 5 games at once most times all on the big floor at the 5th/3rd. It was difficult if not impossible to see the scoreboards from the stands. It was hard to tell even who was winning.
doomer
btw DS U16 lead DC Assault until late and gave up the lead and lost which kicked them to third place in their pool on a tiebreaker as three teams went 2-1. DC assault and KC both beat their next opponents easily. DS U16 beat one of the Indiana Elite U16 teams in a consolation to go 3-1 for the tourney. I saw DS West U17 won their last game by a big score. There is a web site http://www.adidas5classic.com that should be posting results at some time. Maybe someone else who was there has some of the other results.

RA09
KC Pump-N-Run played in the championship aganist DC Assualt, which DS 16U both played in pool games. KC won the tournament, which DS beat in thier pool play game.
doomer
KC Pump-N-Run played in the championship aganist DC Assualt, which DS 16U both played in pool games. KC won the tournament, which DS beat in thier pool play game. That confirms what I thought. The three best teams in the U16 tourney were in the same pool. DS U16 had DC on the ropes and let them off. Bird Man
I attended the tournament Saturday morning and was impressed with all the big-time coaches there recruiting. For its first year, the tourney turned out to be pretty spectacular. Roy Williams, Billy Gillispie, Tom Crean and Thad Matta were just a few of the many coaches that I saw. gymrat94
DS West 17/u went 0-3 in pool play and won a concellation game to end the event. Shinining Stars 17/u went 2-2. Michael Sparks had a very good weekend, catching the eye of many scouts. I would be surprised if, up to this point, any Kentucky kid has had a better showing. He does it all, rebounds, scores, handles the ball and distributes. A complete player with a great attitude. Here is a good write up about him http://www.hometeamsonline.com/basketballteam/NewsStory.asp?username=SHININGSTARSPORTS&newsID=1820. The Hoopfest starts today so it should be another good tourny.
