  1. Great job, Knights!! And congrats to the Eagles, my second favorite team.
  2. 38-7 is correct. Typo, sorry. Could a moderator correct this please?
  3. Sounds like the best game BG has played in recent years. Congratulations!
  4. LexCath took the opening punt and drove for 80 yards for the Td. Scott County could not move the ball against the LexCath defense all night. LexCath played one of their worst offensive games after the initial drive but managed the blowout because of defense, field position and four recovered SC fumbles. This LexCath team could be very good if they can settle down on offense. They need to do this quickly if they want to stay with X next week.
  5. St. X at LexCath. The past games have been close at LexCath.
  6. 7. LCA 5. Bardstown 3. Bellevue 2. Woodford County 1. Mercer County LCA
  7. FC has been tough the last two years but the graduation of Ammons keeps me off their bandwagon for now. Lafayette by 14.
  8. Agreed. The LexCath offense really sputtered after Israel left. The LexCath passing game is still shaky. Scott County always has athletes and is tough at home. SC by less than a Td,
  9. CovCath Henry Clay Lexington Christian OCath South Laurel Breathitt County Bullitt East Ashland Blazer LexCath Trotwood 49 points
  10. Henry Clay Bowling Green Bullitt East Scott County LexCath Henry Clay
  11. Belfry Scott County Lafayette Bardstown Bell County Dupont Manuel Dixie Heights Bowling Green Tates Creek Danville Tiebreaker: 32
  12. I didn't get to make the game. Did LexCath run a lot or were they balanced? Last week against PRP they seemed to run more than usual.
  13. LexCath vs Althoff Catholic (St. Louis).
  14. Game is Friday at 7:00pm at Trinity. T. always does a good job of exposing one's weaknesses and this weekend will be no exception. I'm especially looking forward to see if our line play can hang with T. since this has been the area where we've come up short in years past. You couldn't ask for a better learning experience for our players.
  15. I think the ride in a hot schoolbus could have been a factor. PRP was worn down after two quarters and the incentive wasn't there to come back since it was only a scrimmage. They do have work to do on offense. Despite this I think LexCath supporters were pleasantly surprised whereas PRP people were not. LexCath dominated the third quarter about as much as one can. PRP can build on what they did to that point.
  16. PRP scored on a 35 yard run on the last play of the third quarter to ruin the shutout for Lexcath who won 37-6. The teams played it close for most of the first two quarters but LexCath finally got a score just before the half. On the next PRP series the Qb was sacked in the endzone for two more points to lead 9-0 going into the half. LexCath showed a lot of improvement on defense compared to last year. The offense also got rolling in the third quarter mostly because of excellent field position. PRP always seemed to start inside their twenty whereas Lexcath usually started around midfield. The Knights scored four Tds in the third quarter. Sophmore Greg Raglin looked like the next LexCath speedster and will be an excellent backup to senior Shane Israel at the runningback position. Will Letton was the most effective quarterback. The LexCath lines seemed to control both offense and defense and this was very encouraging. Next stop Trinity. :scared:
  17. I see Trinity winning big, 3+ tds. BG, X, and T are all usually big powerful teams but only Trinity keeps you guessing about how they will attack you. X likes to just line up and knock the mucus out of you. The Trinity home field advantage can mean a lot also.
  18. Revere hit a towering shot over the right field trees with two on. That was all Catholic needed. Final 4-1. Champa pitched a three hit shut out going into the top of the seventh when Henry Clay scored their only run with one out and two runners on. Champa was pulled and Moronde struck out the last two HC batters.
  19. Most people in Lexington don't want growth, thus the planning is to retard it. Still regarding traffic, it's a little bad during rush hour but any other time you can get just about anywhere in fifteen minutes. It does help to know the grid since the traffic is designed for dispersal rather than concentration along major routes like most cities. I've lived here for thirty five years now and if you want to see bad traffic, you only need to go North an hour on I75 or West on I64.
  20. It all depends on how close the game is called. If it is callled close, the SC inside players could be in trouble trying to stop Novosel. If not, the SC guards could create a lot of Catholic turnovers for easy buckets, very important in a gym that doesn't seem to favor outside shots. Catholic did a good job stopping drives and turnovers last game but SC had the good outside game. I don't see many threes falling this Saturday, so it should be more of a inside/transition game. It will be interesting to see how well Walls shoots in this gym. I don't see Scott winning without a good game from him. Novosel will need help from Stewart and company for Catholic to have a chance. Catholic will need to take care of the ball like they did against Tates Creek and not try to force things like they did in most of their losses this year. Catholic in a squeaker, recognizing I have a slight bias.
  21. Regarding Mackey and Walls. Both are great but Mackey takes time off during the game, Walls is always there giving 100% all the time thus the comparison to Lofton. Mackey=Darius Miller, both are very talented (moretalented?) but don't play all the time like Walls and Lofton.
  22. Walls is the best Mr. Basketball candidate I've seen since Chris Lofton and he definitely gets my vote.
  23. Walls reminds me a lot of Chris Lofton with his ability to make clutch shots and his overall basketball IQ. I've not seen Pettigrew but Walls gets my vote of those I've seen.
