:cry: Southwestern lost a lot to graduation. The Warroiors will play a lot of inexperienced juniors this year. They will beat the weaker teams and get beat by the better teams. However, there will not be any team that will play harder and with more effort than SW. And as always, by tournament time the Warriors will be a tough draw for someone. I think Somerset will be the favorite to win the region this year. They have senior leadership, and the Bourne kid in the middle could possibly be the best player in the region. Wayne , Mercer, should be returning alot of talent and will vie for the region.

Final. South Laurel had it 1st and goal with just under a minute to play, and couldn't get it in the endzone. Congratulations Coach Hines & company 4-0 now.

Sorry about any confussion. I thought I gave Lincoln Co credit when I said they were the better team and deserved the win. The radio said that SW was down a touchdown. Then they said that a freshman was in at linebacker for SW. Then they said that a Lincoln Co runner ran up the middle for about a 50+ yard TD. Then they said Adam White was in at QB. Then they said SW was punting. Then they said that a Lincoln Co. runner ran up the middle for @ 50 yards and another TD. So a one touchdown lead went to 25 points in the last half of the 4th Quarter.

Maybe they should call Jodi Hamilton to come in and finish out the year. :scared: Its about Jimmy and Joes not x's and O's I am not close to the program, but I would say that Coach Smith knew what the talent pool was going to be like when he left. Coach Perdue is a good coach but when he took over the program, the only direction the program could go was down.

SW must have had a lot of injurys. I heard on the radio that they were playing a freshman at linebacker, in the 4th quarter. I also heard that Adam White was playing QB in the 4th. I am not taking anything away from LC and I am not making excuses. From what I heard Lincoln Co. was the better team and deserved the victory. But it got out of hand in the last part of the 4th quarter.

Congratulations to Coach Hines and PC. The Defense must be improving. I am glad that the kids and staff have decided to finish out the season. After reading the local paper I was under the impression that they would pack it up after their "super bowl" victory in the opening week.

SW played pretty good. The kicking game was much improved. Keep your head up SL fans its only 38 more days until basketball season begins.

I was wondering the same thing. I switched to Dish this summer and I am going to miss sports overtime if its not on a webcast.

Good win for the Ads. Some will see the final score and think it was a blowout but it was a closer game than the final score. Danville is a class act, for knealing on the ball late in the game. Good luck to Danville the rest of the year, SW keep your head up and keep working, things will get better as the year goes on. We have to improve our kicking game. I thought that was a big factor in tonights loss.

If any part of his foot is on the line he is considered to be in the box. So to answer your question the play should continue because there is no violation. With that said the exception is a big footed batter whose toes touch the plate and heal is on the batters box line. In this situation the batter will be called out even though a part of his foot is on the line. For the record a batter that hits a ball while not in the batters box will be called out whether the ball is fair or foul.

Rule 6-2 Art. 1 Infractions by pitcher Illegal acts include f. Wearing any items on the hand, wrists or arms that may be distracting to the batter h. wearing a glove/mitt that includes the colors white or gray i. wearing exposed undershirt sleeves that are white or gray penalty for the above violations : the infraction must be corrected before the next pitch. In (f) the umpire is the sole authority to judge whether or not an item is distracting and shall have that item removed.

His foot must be on the ground completely outside the batters box to be called out. A lot of times 80% of the foot will be out of the box but the heel will be on the line. So therefore no violation. Another problem is that usually after the 2nd inning of a game, the lines defining the batters box become smeared or disappear altogether. So unless they step on the plate or they are way out of the batters box, they will not be called out.

When I umpire, if a kid throws a helmet or bat and the coach doesn't address it I will. I will usually warn them. I will say that in 90% of the cases the coach takes charge and takes care of it before I have to.

I am sure Coach Morse was the most disappointed person at the park over this unfortunate incident.

When I was freshman in high school I got a technical in a basketball game. On the way home from the gym my dad told me how he was disappointed in me. He then told me that there was nothing he could do keep me from getting another technical, but that if I ever got another technical, that I would never get the opportunity to a third one. I am grateful that I had a dad with such character.

From what I have read it sounds like the apple didn't fall to far from the tree. Sounds like a parenting issue to me.
