Franklin County is a real good team, and the Tigers will have to play a near perfect game to win. That said, it looks as though the juvenile members on here are trying to drum up bulletin board responses out of Tiger fans. My momma told me to act like we’ve been there before (oh wait, we have!), so I won’t oblige you.

If we are fortunate enough to beat Logan County, RD 3 in all likelihood would be at Franklin County, who throws it all over kingdom come. Not a particularly good matchup for us.

At the beginning of the season, the Tigers had a strong run game and played good run defense, but couldn’t throw it and couldn’t defend the pass. Not the best formula. However, slowly and steadily Amonti Marshall has become a better passer, to complement already-impressive run skill sets, and the mid-season addition of Riley Hatfield from LaRue County as a wideout has really opened up the passing game. We still struggle defending the pass, but I think our tackling has become much better and the pass rush is more varied now. NG Aidan Riley is almost unblockable. I like our chances Friday night in the friendly confines of Garnis Martin Field.

Danville historically bad, and losing their tempers to boot. Bardstown took out all of their starters at the half last night because they were starting to retaliate for grossly late hits, etc. Be mindful.

The board has not yet voted to merge the two schools. There was a proposal that was first presented at the last board meeting. Both schools have canceled classes this week while students are protesting and teachers are calling out “sick.“ Interestingly, Nelson County has just canceled school for tomorrow and it is a non-Dash NTI cancellation. I am curious whether they will be permitted to play this game tomorrow night. if the game is played, I think it will be a very competitive contest. Having seen both teams, I think that John Hardin has a slight edge, both playing at home and because Nelson county running back. Joey Goff is out with an ACL tear.

At the end of the day, we’ve beaten the other 4 teams in our district and E-Town. That’s not a stellar resume. I agree that our QB has turned a corner, we’ve picked up a couple good players, and the run D looks tough, but I don’t think we merit top 10 yet. I would like a do-over on that debacle at Taylor County to see what we really look like against them. The playoff schedule is daunting: if we are fortunate enough to win R1 and R2 games at home vs. “common” D2 opponents, we currently would travel to Franklin County for a R3 game, and they throw it all over creation. Guess what we don’t do well at all??

I can’t believe Cooper has lost games. Those D1 athletes are dominant.

Was really impressed with Ashland, no outright superstars, but a great team. Everyone lined up correctly and knows their assignment. Very physical. Backs and receivers block. Don’t turn the ball over, don’t commit penalties. Players appear to have high football IQ. Balanced offense, fundamentally sound tackling defense. A very well-coached team.

Tigers are Class 4A District 2 champions. Will host 4-seed from District 1 in first round.

They were competitive in spots, on defense. It was only 17-0 at halftime. JH forced 3 turnovers, and Bardstown had a ton of penalties. As with most high school games, this game came down to who had the dominant line. Richardson, the JH QB, took a beating, and his receivers dropped too many passes. But the roster appears to be freshmen/sophomore heavy, the team was disciplined, prepared, and hustled, and I just think Doug Preston has them headed in the right direction.

Unofficially, the Bulldogs had -59 net yards rushing. The Tiger front seven was dominant. Ty Ty Williams went for 220 yards (unofficial) and 3 TD’s.

Bardstown has defended the run really well against every team they’ve played except Taylor. If JH can’t throw it, it could be a long night.

The combined records of the opponents in the Tigers 4 losses is 22-6 and all of them are ranked. They were competitive in all but the Taylor game. It certainly has been an underperforming season, but Bardstown still has plenty of players who can play.

And when they did let him run it, we couldn’t bring him down. It is a head-scratcher.

Ty Ty Williams scored all 5 Tiger TD’s, including a punt return, forced a fumble, tackles for loss, pass breakups, etc. Pound for pound one of the best high school players I’ve ever seen.
