JH (4-3) makes the trip down the Bluegrass Parkway with a huge district matchup vs Bardstown (3-4). 

Bardstown, led by TyTy Williams has played an extremely tough schedule and has struggled throwing the ball this year. However, I have a strong feeling they are better than their record says they are. TyTy can break a game open in the blink of an eye must be the Bulldogs sole focus. 
JH coming off a 48-0 win against Thomas Nelson has came a long way from their 2-9 record last season. Their young guys are getting better each week and have a huge opportunity to win what potentially could be a district championship game. 
I think this game comes down to 2 important details. 

1. How will JH stop/slow down TyTy. When Bardstown wins he has huge nights so the Bulldogs must slow him down to give themselves a chance. JH run defense has been stout so it’s an interesting matchup. 

2. How does JH manufacture points? They have struggled throwing the ball but they have been opening the offense recently with some shotgun sets and quick screens. I think this is a low scoring game between 2 evenly matched teams. Give me JH with the upset.

I'll take Bardstown in this matchup. John Hardin isn't there yet!

The combined records of the opponents in the Tigers 4 losses is 22-6 and all of them are ranked. They were competitive in all but the Taylor game. It certainly has been an underperforming season, but Bardstown still has plenty of players who can play.

@Hearsay What do you think about this matchup? Do you have any thoughts on Bardstown that I didn’t mention? Should be a pretty good game Friday night.

I think Bardstown will still win this game but a year or two from now might be a different story.

I think the next 3 years JH football will be back where they are expected to be. Lots of good young football players in the program and I have heard the 8th grade class at Bluegrass is pretty good as well. The combined record for teams they have lost to this year is 17-3. They have also been competitive in every game this year. JH could very well lose this game but this has the potential to be a breakout game for the young Dawgs. Interested to see how they respond

I really hope so. When I think of John Hardin football, the peak Mark Brown years leap to the forefront. They can get it back there. Preston has a championship pedigree and there's an abundance of talent in Hardin County, as I'm sure you know.

John's best defense against Williams is probably a ball control offense. Limit his time on the field, offensively. That's not exactly revolutionary, but it rings true most of the time.

If the Dawgs are unable to sustain drives, Williams gets more looks. And he's going to pop one or two eventually.

The thing is Hardin County Schools have left JH in the DUST when it comes to enrollment in Hardin County. It is absolutely wild to me that Central Hardin is having to push their incoming Freshman class TO ANOTHER SCHOOL because of lack of classrooms and JH has classrooms that aren't even being used. Enrollment from what I hear is up this year a little but JH has become little brother to NH and CH and the district has just allowed it to happen. I am very interested to see what happens when this battery plant comes in Glendale and will probably force the districts hand. Either way I honestly think the past couple of years has simply been because of lack of numbers. Its really refreshing to see some of the young Dawgs with tremendous talent. The future is bright if the district allows it.

Bardstown has defended the run really well against every team they’ve played except Taylor. If JH can’t throw it, it could be a long night. 

John Hardin cannot throw the ball effectively and must rely on their run game to win games.. QB Austin Richardson is 18-41 passing the ball for 421 yards so far this season. That is a completion percentage of only 43.9% on the year.
