Resurgent Tigers Looking For More Against Equally Hungry Cougars

Records: Logan (8-3) | Bardstown (7-4)

BGP 4A Rankings: Logan (#9) | Bardstown (#10)

Round 1 Results: Logan beat John Hardin | Bardstown beat Allen County-Scottsville

Series History: First meeting as far back as 1998

Teaser Preview: Bardstown trudged through an inauspicious start to.the season, but have recovered to win five straight as they welcome Logan County. Throughout the occasional defensive lapses, the superb all-around play of Tyleeq Williams was a constant. TyTy's legs have been spinning a tale of resurrection since the Tigers' 2-4 start. He's approaching 2,000 yards from scrimmage with countless more untold in kick returns. He is, unquestionably, the straw that stirs the drink in Bardstown.

Davin Yates serves as Logan County's all-purpose back, leading the Cougars in rushing and receiving as Williams does for the Tigers. Yates' availability is unknown at this time after missing Logan's first round game. If he's unable to go, the Cougars can come at you from a few different angles, but missing Yates would undoubtedly take a bite out of the game plan.

This is a fresh faced matchup between teams that eventually landed next to one another on the 4A spectrum. Let's hope the game is as competitive as it looks on paper.

Having watched both of these teams play I think Bardstown has the better athletes to win this game. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Bardstown won by 2 or more scores. Bardstown a sneaky really good team that could make some noise in RD 3 dependent on opponent.

Bardstwon's defense doesn't get enough credit imo. Tye Tye is on a whole different level than what you will see on most Friday night's in Kentucky.

Bardstown wins they are getting hot at the right time.

At the beginning of the season, the Tigers had a strong run game and played good run defense, but couldn’t throw it and couldn’t defend the pass. Not the best formula. However, slowly and steadily Amonti Marshall has become a better passer, to complement already-impressive run skill sets, and the mid-season addition of Riley Hatfield from LaRue County as a wideout has really opened up the passing game. We still struggle defending the pass, but I think our tackling has become much better and the pass rush is more varied now. NG Aidan Riley is almost unblockable. I like our chances Friday night in the friendly confines of Garnis Martin Field.

If we are fortunate enough to beat Logan County, RD 3 in all likelihood would be at Franklin County, who throws it all over kingdom come. Not a particularly good matchup for us.

I am pulling for the Tigers in this one. As mentioned, they have gotten on a hot streak at the right time. All you have to do is win by one point and advance. Coach Clark will not let them look ahead to next week. I have said all along, TyTy is the most dynamic player in the state that I have seen. With the heart of a lion, he had put this team on his back all season and has produced outstanding results. This game will be no different. Looking forward to seeing the Tigers play a strong game and advance.

If the teams swapped schedules I’d say they’d both win and lose the same games, I think this is one of the better matchups of the week, should be a really close one.

If that Tigers secondary is shaky that could be a problem and if Logan County returns ATH Davin Yates (SR) I believe they’ll find some success through the air. On the opposite side, Bardstown will be able to move the ball and have the opportunity to score a lot of points.

A long trip to Bardstown but I think the SR led Cougars go on the road and get a win.

Logan County 35 Bardstown 28

51-48 bardstown 3:11 left Logan county ball

Logan tackled at the 1 as time expired. Good luck next bardstown. Will try and give recap later
