  1. LC will end its school year by May 20. NC State's First Summer Session starts after that, and before the KY TN All Star Game. What's wrong with a young man getting started when he feels is the right time?
  2. Burke probably won't play if he enrolls in summer school at NC State. Fidler being at UK is probably not as big a problem, but that may be a (UK) coaches decision since he is currently a college student
  3. I would say that Rock and Harrison were like twin football teams. Similar style and similar circumstances. Rock also lost a kid, one of the running backs, I think, before the LC game. Harrison started the season slow, but once they hit the LC game, they took it up many notches. Some people may say choke, wile it may be that LC just had thier number. Beat Harrison the season before only after stopping a two point conversion that would have won the game with no time left. Agianst Cov Cath, they had thier chance to roll over and die, but were a different team mentally than early in the season. If high school kids get thier heads on straight, they can get rolling. Rock had some slips too early on, but look what they did agianst Bell Co. As time has gone by, sometimes you wonder if the top 5 should all come from the eastern side of the state. No disrespect meant to Bowling Green; they had a great season, just not when it mattered most. What does everyone think would have happened if Rock, Highlands, Cov Cath, Harrison, Franklin, were matched up agianst Bowling Green? Could any of those defenses play the way LC's did? Would BG's defense do the same aginst the other teams offense?
  4. Everybody needs to realize that Fayette Co. put this ban in place when allegations were just that- allegations and rumors. I played sports for a Fayette Co. school agianst LC in high school and made great friends, as well as many others around the city. None of the kids wanted this ban. Tell me why today, in Basketball, some Fayette Co. teams do not play all of thier district opponents in the regular season? Maybe UK basketball should not play any SEC teams next year until the conference tournament.
  5. What kind of metal is it? I guess thats a good price. I meant to ask any wranglings with the ring dealers. Asked a similar line of question in the Trinity ring post
  6. Figured that about payment. I was thinking more about any possible issues avoided since Trinity is used to Championships.
  7. Just wondering how easy/difficult it was to provide players, coaches with rings, compared to say Trinity
  8. Just wondering how the process for Trinity would be, compared to the other schools like Russel in providing rings for the players.
  9. Greg Todd the AD at Lexington Catholic will not be in that position next year. Who do you think would want, will get, or should get this job?
  10. The Lexington School is a non-religious private school K-8 maybe. There is also another called the Montesori School, and I think SCAPA, the School for Creative and Performing Arts is still around.
  11. The QB camp at LC is run by some guy out of New Jersey, I think. LC is only a host site for that camp, they don't run it. It has 10-12 dates across the nation. It's the Complete QB camp.
  12. I know he was Dusty Bonners backup qb for the first half of the first Horsemen season. Dont know after that.
  13. While Catholic probably doesn't scare as many people from the offensive end right now, due to the loss of Burke, maybe the defense should. After some growing pains early in Lettons defensive system they had a great run in the playoffs, and agianst teams that people felt would be problems for them with power running games (Rock, BG) They have some good looking juniors to be. If they can plug some guys into a couple of spots, come playoff time, the defensive side of the ball could be as good, or better than last year. Returning Locknane at Middle Linebacker, Guy as an outside backer, and maybe the best cover corner in the state, Revere. One of my friends told me that Minnefield from HC almost went to Catholic. Can you imagine a secondary with him and Revere?
  14. Reveres future is in baseball. 1st team all city last year, 3rd team all city as a freshman. Leadoff hitter near .500, over 10 home runs last year, and if I saw correct he only has struck out once in two years. Also, as stick1 noted, the FS could do much more. A parent said that young man tied both the single season, and carrer interception records at LC.
  15. In high school, size from a CB is an overrated factor. On the next level it means much more. Seeing the type of technique and subtle tricks he played with, his size is a non factor. He did match up well, and came out on top agianst a 6'7'' Henderson from LCA, and Gu from Highlands, and Bovard(I thought he should get more consideration for all state teams) from Cov Cath.
  16. Are there any schools that still have a level of conduct needed to be eligible? When I played in high school, if you had 25% of your conduct grade as unsatisfactory, you were ineligible for that weeks activities.
  17. You're correct. What I saw Couch do at UK was participate in pass skelly (7 on 7) with current UK players, after spring practice had concluded. If I remember, it was in the early part of may. I don't know if it was agianst NCAA rules to do that before a player graduates high school, but it did happen before the school year was over.
  18. With the adoption of KERA. Spending levels froze, at least in Fayette Co. , says the Lexington Paper. Same is spent today as in 1991 or 1992.
  19. During the fall season at Lex. Cath, both soccer teams practice at the same time the Football team practices. On Saturdays, there will be about 15-25 youth leauge football games. Sometimes a jv game, and then a jv and varsity soccer game. No way a grass field, no matter how well maintained could accomidate this schedule.
  20. I agree with you LSU that LC's defense had problems stopping the power run this year, but by playoff time, some adjustments were made that gave the kids a chance to be as sucessful as they were. They were able to play with 8 or 9 nearly every snap in the box, as thier man coverage was incredible during the title run. And if I remember right, St. X was up 2 or 3 TD's at the end of the first half or begining of the second half. Harrison Co. was up 17 in the 4th Quarter. The defense was able to stop two pretty good ball control ground offenses then. And they do have a great RB in Israel. That kids juke move from the news highlights agianst Rockcastle was incredible. Does any Knights fan know if he had 1,000 yards? If what I saw is correct, he finished the year with 3 straight 100 yard games (Highlands, Rock, BG)
  21. When healthy, Harrison could play with just about anyone in 3A. Had Lex Cath down 17 in the 4th. QB was injured and out for the year, right before the Franklin game. And it's not like Franklin was a joke- two losses, on the road at Lex Cath and Highlands. Went up to a tough place to play at Cov. Cath with a new starting QB and had a chance if they recovered the onsides kick. Seemed to me to be a similar team to Rockcastle. When they played with passion, they were tough.
  22. That problem has been around in Fayette Co. for a long time. Too many kids have an address other than thier actual residence. If everyone followed the rules, the world would be a better place.
  23. After being as close as possible with both T and X at the begining of the season, and having an absolute lights out improvement from thier D in the playoffs, why can't there be an argument for LC being the best team? A natural feeling would be to separate-ha ha- big two, but this year may be a little different. A bunch of ball-hawks on D, and they make the most of thier opportunities. Turnover ratio is Bengals-D like. 43 takeaways and 6 scores on D. 4 of the D TD's were in the playoffs. T and X fans, what do you think? Could this years LC team, be on the same level, just a bit better, or just a bit below the big two?
  24. LC had a barnburner with X, could have come away with the victory, and had their 2nd scrimage agianst Trinity. Heard that was a scrimage that was better than many regular season games around the state this year.
