I didn't believe it when my friend texted me the result. Dixie is doing well right now, and they are dangerous. Holmes needs to get it together in the next 8 months.

I fail to see how this is not making an excuse. I was not at the game... so I cannot pass judgement on either of them... but if it was theirs to win, how didn't they? Not like either of those teams are favorites in the region. Darkhorses at best and one is out in the district.

CCH has won the last 4 or 5 years. This was the first year they haven't won in a few years.

CCH is the favorite at this time. Last night in the first half, Holmes looked decent at best, and played a very poor second half... credit to CCH. Highlands shouldn't have trouble with their side, but its March, and anything can happen. Same with CCH's side, but they have more close games on their side. It will be interesting, but i think CCH can definitely win and if not... Highlands.

HD... after the stomping they took last night, you are still favoring Holmes? Holmes got lucky with the easier region drawing, but still will have to work to make it back to the finals.

HHS and CCH are making the same strides lately. Highlands has learned to win games when Vories does not have a good game, and CCH is winning games when TJ is not doing well. This is what separates "regional contenders" from regional champions. For Holmes, when Hill is not doing well... they seem to struggle (see last night's second half against CCH). Tough draw for both teams being on the same side of the bracket.

I'll agree with you on that one. I just don't think they have anyone to stop Kiernan or even match the guard play of NCC. Could is a big word. But it is a very big stretch. Holmes is too fast for most teams in the region, but they do have lapses, in which Conner will HAVE to take advantage if they want to stay within 20.

Conner should not beat NCC and will not beat Dixie or Holmes.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tubby was checking out Haddix.

Nice win for Male. St X is no real slouch and now Male moves to the region. Good to see.

Good job by PC taking care of business... not onto a brutal 10th region tourny... 3 or 4 teams could walk away with the title. But at this point i see PC and Mason at the top and GRC right there with them. And Brossart after that.

Also Penick seems to like to play facing the basket which boggles my mind. He is easily the biggest body in the 9th. That boy needs to plant himself on the block and shoot over people.

I thought Penick would go for 20 and 15 against a pretty small Dixie team. Against CCH Dixie came out absolutely unconscious from the 3. They opened up something like a 13 point lead early then went a little cold. This is their kryptonite and it they are not hitting they are in trouble.

I figured as much, as probably did everyone else. Dixie takes a cupcake districts and looks forward to a district loser. DHHS takes care of business as usual. Good wins.

Probably right. These teams have "big game" experience. Makes for a good region.

The top 3, as first thought in the first 2 weeks of the year, are from the 35th. Highlands is good... but it will be interesting how they fare in the region with no player having a lot of regional experience.

I look for Highlands to repeat the 36th. Birds by 13. HHS - 59 NCC - 46

Especially when that team took out the top 2 teams in the region in a 10 day span. Great win for Ryle.
