What would be the reason or reasons for leaving? Hopefully not meddling parents or locals that don't know anything about the sport.He had to start from zero, and you can't finish a job like that in 1 year.Western Hills in Frankfort has had meddling and has gone through some really good coaches who are having success now at other schools.Let your coach do his job.If he is walking away for any other reason, then I am completely puzzled.They seemed to be heading in the right direction last year.

Any definite news on where the first FC games will be played until the new bleachers/press box is done?

It will be weird to not see Ed Fields on top of the press box! He and Sandra sure did a lot for FHS besides giving them Emmanuel,Ephraim and EJ! Good luck to Coach Foley this season,It looks to be you biggest test since coming to FHS.

Hate to see you go.HOPEFULLY YOU WILL FIND ANOTHER JOB IN COACHING! If you don't coach hopefully you will find another way to help youth.You were very accurate in stating that coaches do more than coach their sport,they provide love and leadership!You will be missed!

Smart people are the ones who ask for help when needed, instead of failing because they don't want ask a "stupid" question.Believe it or not, I would bet that the principal has OC's best interest at heart.

Seems like you're willing to give a guy a fair chance! Dang those pesky outsiders!:confused: But seriously, that is exactly what you need at Owen,and if your community wants a successful football program you have picked a good coach.You need to throw your support behind your new coach and so do the rest at OC.

A very talented bunch for sure,especially Ammons! I think the main reason that team is special to most is the fact that the season before the Flyers were winless under Coach Roberts,then Coach Walker and "The System" came to town and brought back enthusiasm to the program.It is a lot like Pitino and his first teams at UK.If this years bunch at the skill positions have a year as good as last after losing the "4" from last year you can mention them with anybody.I think coach Ledford's line coaching will always make FC be successful as players come and go.That as much as anything has made FC successful,because Ammons or Thompson or anybody can't throw from the ground!:thumb:

I believe Coach Ledford went to several youth league games last year, and believe me, the kids noticed!Perhaps coach Ledford and co. could tutor some of the coaches in FYFL.Some of FCHS's coaches are former FYFL coaches and could give some much needed help to the current coaches.

Is Thacker going to scrap "the system" and go to the veer or wishbone this season?LOL

I assure you, you school has spent more money on your FIELD than Frankfort High has spent on ALL SPORTS COMBINED at FHS in the last 5 to 10 years!.I have been to Beechwood and I believe you have field turf.I am a FCHS fan and live in Frankfort,and know the situation at FHS.Foley and Co have performed a minor miracle to just put uniforms on kids backs, much less be competitive!You cannot truly understand the situation at FHS if you can't see that most programs have a huge edge compared to FHS before the first practice ever happens.I doubt many coaches could have the success that these coaches have had if put in the same situation.Most would choose to move on and forsake the kids.

Strong statement!...... But I totally agree! Because of the knowledge of the system by these kids,they will out perform more physically gifted kid because they will be more technically correct, and their chemistry is definitely better than most.

Hard to say for sure, but Robinson is very talented and tough.I wonder what kind of rotation FC will have to keep him fresh. He will need to rest for a few plays on one side of the ball or the other.Maybe Conner or Jackson will share time on offense?Who would be the one to rest him on defense?I personally think Big Willie Smither and Barnett are the hardest shoes to fill from last year. I thought Smither could have been last years MVP of the team.You just don't see that many kids that are that athletic playing on the line, where games are truly won and lost.

Do you think Metcalf is D-I material? I think EJ's leadership may be overlooked and possibly missed as much as his talent.The character of the senior boys may be missed as much as their talent.Who will step up for FHS in that aspect?

Most fans don't know that last year Deron Hicks had more catches than Colton Riggs the year he recieved all the hype and Kevin Stiles had more than Shane McDonald from the same team, and equaled his TD total while playing the "Y" instead of WR.He (Stiles)also played the whole season with a broken wrist,and is healthy now.:thumb:

Look for Oakley Watkins to be the leader of this team.He is a winner like former Qb Ammons.I look for him to be another of the overachievers that Coach Ledford has coached.I think most of the players at FCHS learned a valuable lessen about preperation and confidence after their playoff loss last year.this could be the best recieving corps in years and Robinson will pick up where Metcalf left off.Line play is the big Question mark.

A tremendous amount of the credit goes to Nick's parents as well as his coaches. JVDFC laid the groundwork when Nick was in FYFL.Assistant coach Thompson also deserves a large portion of credit for several of the current FC players level of play.

Without question the loss of the senior line will be hard to overcome.Coach Ledford and his staff are up to the task of grooming their replacements.Several unproven players will have to step up in that area on both sides of the line.At the skill positions they lose RB Metcalf but return QB Sean Thompson,district player of the year Deron Hicks ,8 TD rec,TE Kevin Stiles,8 TD rec,RB Leland Robinson and quite a few others that contributed last year.

If I could,I would nominate Dennis Ledford at Franklin County.It is his first year as a head coach and he had the Flyers playing some good football.I think he and his staff got the players to overachieve.After losing a state runner up for Mr. football most expected a down year for FC, but they had quite a nice season!Hopefully he is around for a while(he is only 29 yrs. old I think).:thumb:

My head was this big, I'm not joking! I had it shrunken so my hood would fit over it!

Before the season started I didn't think FC would have a season like this!While the players and coaches are very dissapointed now,us fans are quiet impressed along with the dissapointment.The coaching staff believed and made the players believe they were going to be good even though they lost their head coach,a Mr.football runner-up and numerous other players.Most people thought this would be a down year for FC.The feeling will probably be the same for next year with the loss of so many seniors.I personally will believe there won't be "a down year" again! I want to express my pride in the FC "FAMILY" OF PLAYERS,COACHES,AND BOOSTERS!Next year is just around the corner!New leaders will emerge and FC will roll on!:ylsuper:

And finally the truth instead of excuses!My sons have played numerous sports and had excellent coaches in football and some bad ones in other sports.The sports they liked they continued to play,win lose, or draw,good coach,bad coach.THEY PLAYED FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF THE GAME!
