Johnson Central 49 Paintsville 15
I was a little disappointed in the way JC started last night. Paintsville was much more ready for this game than we were. JC came out very flat. Paintsville slapped them in the mouth the second they took the field by disrupting their entrance and stomping on the big eagle at midfield. You would have thought that would have gotten them a little fired up, but Paintsville looked very good the first quarter. They were just wore down by the bigger team. I must be part of the minority but I don't think paintsville is going to loose the rest of their regular season games. They are better than people are giving them credit for.

7th graders playing varsity baseball?
Depends on the kid Johnson Central has a 8th grader who is 6ft4 and throws in the lower 80's. It was dangerous for him to throw against some middle school players. If you have a kid that big who throws that hard why stunt his development? If you are worried about a REAL injury, worry about the 5ft3 85lb. 6th or 7th grader who has to face these physicaly developed young men.

Justin Blanton commits to Marietta College
I would also like to congradulate Justin. He is one of the hardest working young men on the baseball field I have ever met. He also conducts himself on and off the field the way a young man should. His older brother Adam is the same way,and younger brother Seth is a preatty good boy when his eyes are closed (j/k). Mom and Dad have alot to be prouf of.

Huntington High 103 South Charleston 61
I also watched the game and they T'd him up for throwing the ball in the stands. He threw himself a lob off the backboard from about 35 feet, dunked it then threw the ball in the stands. Great play classless act. IMO

2007 Johnson Central
JC has some shoes to fill, but has a lot of talent coming back from a regional championship team. No disrespect to last seasons team, but I think they will be better next season. I'm not saying they will go any further because I feel like they will have to improve their passing game to go any further. The personell is there for JC to be very good for the forseable future.

All State Teams
The ones that I think have a chance, from JC- Tackett, Johnson, Grim, from Ashland- Mcdavid, from Bell- Slusher, from Rock-Miller, Durham. These are the ones I think have a chance hopefully region four will get a few to represent us.

List Your Final Class AAA Top 5 for 2006
#1 Covington Catholic- simply the best. #2 Lexington Catholic- some of the best athletes in the state, very hard to defend speed. #3 Johnson Central- very hard hitting, great running game, great fan support. #4 Highlands- tradition, tough schedule, smashmouth at it's best. #5 Bowling Green- alot of talent , best of the west. I would have loved to have seen a game between #3 and #4. #1 and #2 were just a notch above everybody else.

Covington Catholic 38 Johnson Central 14 (Take #3)
Congrats to CCHS, very good football team. They were very well coached, had great fans, and had a ton of athletes. Good luck at PJ's. Now for JCHS, I would like to take the time to thank all the fine young men who were a part of this years team. You have set the bar for all football teams that hit the field for JC. As for the seniors, good luck in whatever you choose to do. You will be remembered for your acomplishments on and off the field. As for the underclassmen, keep your head up, work hard, and maybe next year we will get a taste of december football.

Sam Flynn
We will have to agree to disagree.:thumb:

Sam Flynn
I think it was excellent coaching on the part of CCH. If you have an athlete such as Flynn you utilize him. Highlands blocked him all night and got beat, and if he had 30+ tackles we didn't get a body on him when we should have. All I'm trying to say is Tackett is a very good LB. We were outmaned tonight but not at LB.

Sam Flynn
Flynn, is a good linebacker but it was the scheme that allows him to make that many tackles. He goes unblocked almost every play. I'm not trying to take anything away from Flynn or CCH because they are very good, but Michael Tackett from JC was the best LB on the field tonight.

Covington Catholic vs. Johnson Central
This very well may be true, but I would not get bet against JC. CCH may beat them maybe even beat them bad, but so far defensively this team has been very good. All JC fans have heard all year is that they haven't played anyone. I just think they haven't played anyone in their class. Rock Castle is a very respectable team, but they were not near the same level as JC last friday. Win or loose I am proud of the Eagles they have been a joy to watch this year. It is a well earned honor to play CCH in the state semis. CCH is thought to be the states number 1 AAA team in the state, and I have a feeling JC will earn the repect from the NORTH after this game is over.
