Doesn't Marietta have a pretty strong program?

They are the defending National Champions and currently ranked #18 in the most recent American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball Poll, released Tuesday, May 8th.

 

They are 1981, 1983, 1986 and 2006 DIII National Champions.

 

They have an impressive list, of former players in professional baseball. Some who played MLB, include:

 

Jim Tracy – Pittsburgh Pirates

Matt DeSalvo – New York Yankees

Duane Theiss – Braves

Kent Tekulve – Pirates

Terry Mulholland – Giants

 

Justin had several colleges, of differing levels who were interested and made offers but he chose Marietta, for both academic and baseball reasons. The competition, facilities, coaching and atmosphere, is second to no college. Many programs, regardless of level would like to have the tradition and success, Marietta College has.

Justin has been a tireless worker both on the field and in the classroom. His family is very proud of him. I know his dad in particular cant put into words what he has meant to have him as a son and to have watched him make the sacrifices that it takes to be a student/athlete. Whether he ever gets another hit or ever records another strikeout has absolutely no bearing on how deeply his father loves him. Congratulations son and best of luck. Your mom, dad, two brothers, and grandparents are truely happy and proud of you.

I would also like to congradulate Justin. He is one of the hardest working young men on the baseball field I have ever met. He also conducts himself on and off the field the way a young man should. His older brother Adam is the same way,and younger brother Seth is a preatty good boy when his eyes are closed (j/k). Mom and Dad have alot to be prouf of.

Congrats to Mr. Justin Blanton. You are one classy young man on and off the field. I wish you the best of luck with your college decision. Congrats to dad, I know that you put in alot of work also to get Justin to this position, all of those long summers has paid off. Good luck and now concentrate on finishing up this high school season strong.

Thats an impressive looking 3 story stair well leading up to the top of the press box. I can see and hear the coaches now,Hey Blanton is that your little brother sliding down the side like a fireman. :D
