Just heard from the coach That Matt Thompson signed to University Of Charleston. Congrats Matt.Good player and person.

The shame of it all is that the rest of the boys played their hearts out. Matt Thompson pitched a heck of a game and the center fielder played at college level. Good luck Cats.

The coaches usually are the one that call a number the Independent gives them to report scores of each game.Games must be reported before 11:00pm. The Independent is very good about posting if the coach call the scores in.

Sounds like a person I would like to have had coached my kids in JV to me. I really like to hear the comments of bleacher coaches that dont have a clue.

To me single A sports is the hardest of all to coach. These schools have limited amount of players and have up and down seasons from year to year. Having one player out can make a big difference. I personally appreciate single A coaches more in the fact that they do not have the depth of larger schools and require more coaching strategy. Coach Hoof being a Hall of Fame coach along with Coach Hall tells me that Raceland is blessed with an excellent coaching staff. Raceland and Fairview are always hard competitors to deal with in their district.

Thats one reason I love this game.Any team has a chance at winning on a given day.Congrats Royals.
