CURTIS LOWE Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Reynolds pitched for Raceland and went the distance I may be wrong but I think he had 3k's and 2bb 1hbp gave up 6 runs. He had the Ashland batters off balance all night at least it seem to me he did. Ashland scored in the 1st and 3rd innings and then scored 4 in the 6th to take the lead 6-5. Rigsby started and pitched to 10 batters he was off his game tonight. The Johnson boy came in and shut Raceland down for 3innings and then Ashland pitched Adkins and Raceland came back to win the game 8-6.
oldram Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Rams win by a tooth. Thats funny right there. Good game Rams. I think they needed a little bit of confidence going into the next game. Saturday should be rough, Racelands prom night. It will give the younger ones some Varsity experience.
Blue Blazer Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Josh Reed 8th grade 3rd baseman had a great game for the Rams. Raceland is playing some good baseball right now. Keep it up guys and let's be on a roll come districts! By the way how tough is John Scott Carver? He gets his front tooth knocked out completely in warmups and still plays the entire game.
oldram Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 The Rams are coming together. John Scott is definetly a tough one. I was also impressed last night that with every hit at least two boys stepped out of the dug out and patted the players no matter if they were coming in or it had been an out. The older boys have really stepped up to encourage the younger ones. Impressive!

It speaks highly of the type of kids wearing the Orange & Black and the coaching staff that leads them. They deserve a big :thumb:

Congrats to the Rams on the win, but giving up 6 runs in 7 innings doesn't exactly sound like the pitcher had the Ashland batters off balance all night. I mean assuming all the runs were earned that would be an ERA of 7.71
pantherfan Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 How do you get a 7.71 ERA on 6 earned runs in 7 innings?
oldram Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Rams will not be going to Paintsville this weekend.
LRCW Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 How do you get a 7.71 ERA on 6 earned runs in 7 innings? Do you know how to figure out an ERA? If so, it's pretty simple. You take the number of runs given up, multiply it x9 and then divide it by the number of innings pitched. That gives you an ERA of 7.71
pantherfan Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Thanks Statmaster..... It looks like LRCW needs to check his attitude at the door and take a baseball statistics course!!!
LRCW Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 In high school, you multiply by 7 , not 9. Thanks, I didn't realize that, but the numbers are still going to pretty much be the same no matter how you figure it. An ERA of 6.00 for every 7 innings pitched or an ERA of 7.71 for every 9 innings pitched.
