Mrs CWF does a lot of media work and agrees with you Pigman. The coaches are part of the game, the media is not. She has always felt it was her responsibility to stay out of the games way, not the opposite. IMO, keep the player out of the box and let the coaches coach.

I forgot to add. Our local Autozone donated all of the squeegies, and gives us a case of window washing fluid each time we do it. Dairy Queen donated all of the buckets for the washing fluid, and for the donation buckets. We take pictures each time and send them to the paper with the names of all the sponsers.

One of my favorite fund raisers is washing car windows at drive thru restaurants. The players do the work instead of the parents. We'll do it 6 or 7 times a year at McDonald's or Dairy Queen or Wendy's. Sometimes two at a time if we can staff them. It takes about 10 players and a couple of adults to supervise at a time. We usually go 7:30-1:00 on a Saturday morning. One shift goes 7:30-10:00 the other goes 10:00-1:00. We've never made less than $650 and have made as much as $1100. Not bad for a few hours work. And like I said, the boys do the work. The only thing the restaurants ask is that we don't slow down the line, so you have to skip a few cars now and then to keep things moving.

Obviously you're wrong. I know them both and have stood next to both of them. Matthew is about 2" shorter than me and Clay is about 2" taller than me. I would guess them at 5'10" and 6'2". Once again, they do not play the same position. Not sure what your beef is with Matthew McCloud he's a hard worker and a team player. And like another poster said he helped spark the turn around in the game. He had a couple of steals and rebounds to go with the the couple of 3s he made. Clay is a good basketball player (arguably the best on the team) and will get better and better as he gets stronger. He's only a Soph and may still yet get a little taller by his senior year. He'll play college ball somewhere.

Give me a break. I don't know what kind of ruler you use. No where close to 8 inches taller. And like an earlier poster said, McCloud and Cinnamon don't play the same position.

This is a pretty typical Mercer team. They'll try to run, then run again, and then run some more. They're pretty good at it though. Against Perry Co they rushed for 429 yards and passed for 8 yards.

Does anybody know how many lower seeds won?

Personally I think 2 per district is too few. Too many good teams get left out. IMO since 3 teams doesn't shorten the season any, you might as well have 4 teams. Yes most of the 1-4 games are blowouts, but going to 3 just to eliminate teams doesn't make sense to me.

To all the Perry Co folks. The young man, Amis, is an outstanding player with a heart as big as a building. I hope everybody there is as proud of him as we were impressed by him.

Final

To the best of my knowledge. Mercer has not worn full pads for any practice the entire year.

Can't understand why Jaggers refuses to go for 3. In the first quarter, Mercer had the ball 4th and 9 at the 11. He goes for it instead of getting the points. When given a chance, the kicker has not missed a field goal all year. If memory serves correctly, this is the 9th time this year that he has gone for it on 4th and more than 5 inside the 20. Only once have they got the first down. At the end of this game Mercer had the ball at the 5 and could have played conservative had they had the 3 points.

Back on subject. Hat's off to the Rockets. They had a game plan and executed it well. These were two very similar teams. If they played 10 times it would probably end up 5-5.

Not sure how you come to this conclusion. Mercer rushed for 387 yards against Southwestern. That's not beating yourself, that's getting beat.

Final. The weather conditions really hurt South, but Mercer was the better team. Listened to the South players during the game, and talked to a couple after the game. They are a classy group of young men.

Fortunately, I am not who you think I am. And you may want to read the BGP rules. It is a violation to try to try to give away someone's identity.

This one may set a record for points scored. I'll take Mercer 52-45.

Congrats to Boyle on a very well executed game. The coaches knew what they wanted to do, and the players did an excellent job of executing the game plan. Talent wise I think these two teams are very close. But the Boyle out coached Mercer badly. The Boyle D seemed to know exactly what Mercer wanted to do. Mercer's D did a good job of forcing Boyle into 3rd down situatuons but French had the right play called and exploited Mercer's weeknesses. Hats off to the Rebels on a very good performance.

I heard he's returning the same favor he got last year.

I don't get the McCloud situation. He's a great kid, and he works his tail off in practice and in the game. Only thing I can figure is Jaggers is trying to get Yeast a scholarship, by showing how durable he is. He is extremely strong and durable, but I would like to have seen Yeast carry the ball 30 times instead of 39 and McCloud carry it 15 instead of 6. I think the offense would be more effective.
