I listened to the game on Cov cath Radio. They do a great job and were not as big as Cov. Cath homers as the Radio guys who do Football and are not suppose to be Cov. Cath guys. Keep doing the internet radio it is awesome to listen to 2 guys who are passionate about their school, do games and also give props to the other team. By the way I am a Dixie guy and you know how most of us feel about Cov. Cath. I think I will need to seek counseling for saying nice things about the blue colonels

I am sure they were just confused on how they could have won 5 straight and lost to a team in the 6th that didn't win a playoff game. Sorry I couldn't resist.

I will agree Highlands in the past few years has toned it down. I even saw them neal it out in a game inside the ten up 35. Sorry for intruded on this thread I was just answering a question about why people may not like Mueller. I gave my reason. I respect Highlands Football and know they work very hard to be State champions and in most years they achieve this goal.

I do not like either teams but here is why I dislike Dale. I do not fault him for pumping his kids who cares I am glad to see a coach who believes that much in his team: 8- 26, '00 Fern Creek Beechwood 55 - 0 (W) I was at this game Highlands on side kicked every time in the 1st half and the score was like 35, or 42-0 at half I don't care what you say there is no reason to attempt to humiliate High school kids and doing this is exactly what he was doing. Sep 4, '98 Campbell County Highlands 88 - 12 (W) I don't care how bad a team is you can not score 88 points on a team just by your play calling, This is once again a grown man humiliating teenagers. On a final note I must say I respect what Dale mueller has accomplished as a coach, and Highlands Football in general and the biggest compliment I can give is I can't stand them, and I hoipe they loose every game except th Cov. Cath game then I hope it ends in a tie.

I agree. I think it was always said they played Highlands, Cov. Cath and Beechwood and others to prepare themselves for their district. I now think they need to play a few bigger powers to prepare them to compete with Highlands. I would like to see them play Lousiville teams

I think you are correct that T and X aren't always the most talented but they have talented players maybe not the standouts. My statement was I don't think you can win a Sate title at the 6A level without any naturally talented players or should I say at least without having football savy players that know how to get the most out of their talent. (I think that is what you see at T, X and Highlands)

Good answer, Now I get it for the last few years I have heard that schools need to work harder to beat the likes of Trinity, and that always made me mad because that is doubting the work ethic of teams. (Not that some teams work ethic doesn't need improvement) It is a conbination of working hard and doing so in an intelligent way.

I agree with your statement, but I don't know how High school teams can elevate their programs. I may be mistaken but I would assume that most coaches work hard and try to give their team the best chance to win, but you can not create naturally talented players like some of the schools you mentioned have had when they were successful(Stellman,Alexander, Faris, Menetry) and I believe you need this at the 6A level. It is not like you can pay a coach more to come coach at your school, like in college. So I am just interested in how a team is suppose to elevate their program at the High School level? I will say one school that may have taken a big step is Lloyd but there are few Coaches with the resume of their new Head Coach.

Don't forget with those #'s comes the privledge of competing with Trinty, St. X, and Male for the State Title. So I am not sure they would even have 16. I f Dale wanted that he would have moved to 6A.

That is what would make it disappointing at Highlands. Just watch interviews with their Coach he says they veiw every season as they either Win the State Championship or not. I in no way think Ryle's season was disappointing but by Highlands standard it was. I think Highlands has proven thier dominance in NKY with the few exceptions I mentioned.

So do you think Dixie does nothing all summer. I agree what works at some schools doesn't work at all. Maybe Spritzky is following Best practices according to another thread Trinity (the States leader in State Titles) does not do Spring practice. As far as not doing 2 a days. Dixie Does a different form of Two a days. One practice with the Varsity followed by a practice with the JV and some players work their way up. I would like to see a second practice where they worked on conditioning. Lets not forget Spritzky has had some sucess at Dixie. The man had a district championship team in 2005. Followed by a less than stellar season, but I feel these things will happen. The coaches at Dixie did not forget how to coach because they lost a few Close games in their district last year.

Has this ever happened? I do not follow Highlands except for when my team plays them and I have never seen the Bluebirds not be focused on the task at hand. I would think Highlands would win this game it may be close but I think they would win. Think about this Ryle's SUCCESSFUL season last year would be a disappointing season at Highlands.

Who's Theory? Highlands owns NKY reguardless of Size the have only lost to 2 different NKY schools since 1996 they have lost 5 games to those schools from (CCH 97, 01, 06, 06 Dixie 02).

There maybe soon, Will the Yeagle name bring the kids to Lloyd like it did Beechwood, as some of those great athletes that played for Beechwood were not always in the Beechwood system.

Well Dixie is a bigger school with open enrollment so there is no reason they shouldn't beat these two schools. :lol:

sml007 I assume your coments were an attempt to slam Lynn Ray, and you were not really suggesting that Dale was affraid of anybody.

I believe in recent years that intimidation has palyed a huge role in my schools opening game of the season. Blown out by a team they should have played with 4 years in a row. I think it stems from their tradition.

That is a very serious statement. I think you would like to believe it happens but name me one palyer Dixie has Recruited. They come because they want to win just like for those that choose Beechwood, Cov. Cath, or Highlands over Dixie. I just don't see Coach Spritzky cheating. If you have other info please do tell.
